I have a friend who lives in Madrid. He's been sent home from work and told not to come back until further notice and he's heard that Spain will soon be on lock down.

I can see England / UK following suit soon.

Delay phase to be announced at lunchtime tomorrow by Govt.

God knows how long the social distancing will be in place.

Wonder if they will cancel the play off games and revert to the top 3 getting straight promotion!

It's a times piece that says they will but it is just a newspaper piece at the moment

so then... train, plane, train to get to St Andrews at the weekend then same again to get home, based on the last person you speak to it’s either safe/ dangerous/ irresponsible/ low risk.

The Times article suggest that there is a penalty clause in the Premier League broadcasting contracts meaning that if the season was cancelled the Premier League would have to pay out hundreds of millions to the broadcasting companies, hence the eagerness to keep the games on.

Immediately a player gets it there will be a stop on the game - for us imagine if Godden got it or Marosi we would want it stopped - yikes rough ride ahead chaps

The Juve player Rugani has it, it’s only a matter of time.

I’m not being disparaging and everyone is in a different situation but I can’t get inside the head of anyone that would do that & do even more damage to the precarious finances.

Be interesting to know if the club have business interruption insurance to cover things such as this. I’d hope so but you’d hardly envisage something like this happening.

Happy for the club to keep the ST money, it’s out of their hands at the end of the day and will likely need propping up. May even need to look at additional fundraising options.

Think an early announcement saying all outstanding league games are 0-0. Fair overall (although bound to be some who will feel disadvantaged). FA Cup/other cups - who knows? Knock on effects for next season - negligible, except that some of the cup winner entitlements will have to revert to league places (e.g. European qualification). Said it on another thread, can you imagine the outcry at e.g. Leeds if they were denied promotion this season as a result of EFL decision. Lawyers !! (I deliberately didn't include us in that scenario !)

That won’t happen, imo the worse it will get is playing behind closed doors, should this get worse the season will get extended into May.
Also I’m certain there will be rules in the EFL rule book regarding points ratio per games played as there is in the amateur game.
