I fancy Fleetwood, they are going like a train at the right time, tough team to play and a manager in Joey Barton who can motivate and seems to get that little bit extra from his players got big match tonight and Rotherham at home coming up so obviously crucial games I fancy them to get something from both.

Updated Again. The 'possible points' bit is just me tweaking all the results to see if it was possible for more than 2 teams of the chasing pack to get 89 points which it isn't. These aren't the final points totals of what I expect the teams to get as they will be much lower than what it shows.

I know I shouldn't but having us muck things up so much in the past, why do I still feel nervous about the remaining games, I just want us to go 2-0 up after 10 mins of each game, is it too much to ask to ease the heart murmurs.....
I think this "combined" team is different compared to individuals and combinations before, I'm trying to enjoy so much but I don't want it to bite me in the arse

Especially with the loo paper shortages.

Take 12 from the next 4 and we're up I reckon, hope Robins is instilling that mentality into the players. Forget 10 games, we want to win it as soon as possible. It's easily doable, only Wycombe have anything to play for.

Can some one work out the lowest position we could get fall to if we lost all our remaining games

Even then there would still have to be a 24 shift in goal difference.Beat Shewsbury Saturday and that would take them Accrington and Lincoln out of the equation.I must stop this

I mean even if we only lost 1-0 and they won 1-0 that’s 20 goals (Bakayoko) so not a million miles away in this mental scenario.

Apart from us. I think the autos are going to be between Rotherham, Oxford, Fleetwood and Posh (based on remaining fixtures, coupled with Sunderland's recent implosion). If this is correct, then 2 out of Pompey, Sunderland and Wycombe will miss out on the play offs.

Looking at the fixtures I fancy Fleetwood to get 2nd place

Hope you are correct Evo. as they'd have little chance of staying in The Championship, with lower crowds than Burton used to get. Fantastic season for them. Annoys Sunderland even more, given their comparative resources AND Joey Barton.

Looks even more important to get up this season if next year the league is going to have Ipswich, Luton, Charlton, Barnsley, then all but two from Oxford, Fleetwood, Rotherham, Pompey, Sunderland, Posh, Wycombe and Donny. I'm also expecting Blackpool to kick on.That's half of the league that are looking at promotion not taking into account one from league two normally gets in the mix. Going to be a hell of a league.

Maximum points per team assuming all teams win all games except when playing other top 8 opposition excluding us, when the home team wins

Rotherham 83
Oxford 84
Portsmouth 81
Fleetwood 84
Peterboro 83
Sunderland 80
Wycombe 89

on the same basis we would end up with 97 points or 88 if we lost to Peterboro, Oxford and Wycombe as assumed above

So Wycombe have the easiest run in , with only us to play out of the top 8
Oxford and Fleetwood are the other form teams
Either way I cant see a way that 5 wins would not see us promoted

Spot on. Will be a tremendously competitive division next year. Hopefully us along with Fleetwood and Wycombe get the promotion places. I feel that those two have consistently punched above their weight this season and deserve a shot at a higher standard. And selfishly I believe they are the two of the other potential promotion candidates likely to struggle at a higher level (may be wrong there but hopefully not disrespectful). Wont be easy for us either but I just feel we would be the best equipped of the three to stay up.

On a side note...how long before Wycombe can no longer rely on akinfenwe?

We will lose at some point. The key will be bouncing straight back with a result and not losing 2 or 3 back to back.

Fair comment but didn't we say something similar last year with the likes of Ipswich coming down?

Agree though, we need to get up as soon as we can.

True but I don't think anybody expected them to be as poor as they have been, Bolton also came down as a mess leaving it wide open. Sunderland and Pompey will get their act together eventually and the three coming down have very recent experience of getting out of this league.
