Very early doors to be talking winning the league with 12 games to go but things certainly look promising - Will there be an open top bus provided by the council ? - I can just imagine all the council dignitaries trying to celebrate the achievement with a touch of embarrassment - Or will the club decide not to Celebrate in our city

Do they own an open top bus then?

I know this is just Internet wanking but of course there’s going to be an open top bus parade. Just like there was last promotion when the council and Sisu were hardly friends. And sorry to the frothers but there’ll probably be a civic reception with the Lord Mayor just like last time. The council don’t provide the bus AFAIK but they do need to close roads and the like.

Threads like this really highlight that for some it’s about deep hatred of local politicians and not about CCFC. Also an inability to distinguish between the City of Coventry and Coventry City Council.

The club pays for the bus from a private company don't they? I am pretty sure last time somebody was whinging that it had the same reg as one that Farage had used (if I remember properly?)

If any of the councillors jump on the bandwagon, I hope they get told to get to fuck. The club should put on a massive party at Ryton with it or stop outside Duggins house.

Can’t believe the number of people who think it’s job done already!
We are Coventry, we are more than capable of fucking anything up.
Can we PLEASE keep a lid on promotion talk until it’s mathematically certain.

True, if we win 2 of the next 3, then 2 of the next 3, then two of the next 3 I might put a bet on us to be Champs

I'd tell the council to fuck off and stick their civic reception.
Still have the parade.

Nothing about frothing. They're no friends of CCFC. They can fuck right off.

There must be a few at the council hoping it all falls apart as they are going to be in a no win situation which they have helped bring on themselves.

Too bad they've knocked our balcony down

They could use the 87 open top bus in Broadgate like Moz did from the trust and ues a different bus for the parade.

I hope we don't use the Brexit bus this time!

Chief Commentator!
Of course we'll be champs! Walk in the park! Too many doom and gloom merchants on here!

I reckon the team would prefer the bus ride rather than walking ;)

Should all hire more buses to follow, park up outside the council house and throw eggs at them and anyone who walks out at that very moment (apologies if it’s just the cleaner who gets in the way!).

not really anywhere that the council doesn’t own so no matter where the parade goes or fans congregate they will have some form of involvement!

Completely digressing but I remember clear as day being on the Ansty Road as a 7 year old and the FA cup team coming past in celebration and being absolutely buzzing and in complete awe. Thousands out and loads of people throwing scarves up to the players and then chasing the bus up the road.

Here’s hoping the youth of today manage to have the same sort of memories.
