I have us down as losing 2 games from now until the end of the season

And trying to work out what we can get from each block of 3 matches to hit 22 points I reckon we need to be champions

Ipswich A
Shrewsbury H
Lincoln A

70 points

Wycombe H
Accrington A
Peterborough H

76 points

Gillingham A
Oxford H
Blackpool A

82 points

Burton H
Wimbledon A

86 points

Ideally we get 6 points from each block of 3
And 4 from the last 1 block

22 points will have us champions IMO with less games played (44 not 46)

So we need to find either 6 or 7 wins and 4 or 1 draw.

Both scenarios we can lose 1 or 3 games respectively

My calculations only give us 83 but I still think it'll be enough

We will be favourites for every game from now until the end of the season. Champions are ruthless it's time to be greedy for all the points and pull away from the pack PUSB
Except against Ipswich, where they are favourites.*

I really think the teams we face now will have a real go from the start of matches, we are top are people always won't to claim the scalp of the top team, but if we hold firm for 20-30 mins of theses matches or even go a goal up, I think most (not all) teams will fold and think ,cov are a good side we weren't expected to get anything anyway. We just have to be strong and keep going.

Yep, first goal is the key

Surely the Ipswich are there for the taking this weekend. Lambert has lost the crowd now and the team are shot to pieces at present.

Problem we have now is every single opposition player will be out to impress against us in the hope they can hitch a ride on the Good Ship Promotion.

I've been putting this together this season for anyone who wants to get too into the stats :)

With 44 games rather than 46 it works out points per game to compare previous seasons.

The season comparison table – but that's a whoooole other graphic – puts us 22 points ahead of the same games from last season (with promoted/relegated clubs swapped). We were on 42 points after the same games last season.

For the remaining 11 games, we only got 14 points last season (3 wins, 5 draws, 3 losses).

I think we need 85 points to do it so 21 more required. (85 rather than 86 based on the average as it's a lot closer race so points spread more evenly. Plus that was my pre-season prediction and I want to be right :cat:)

You have to bear in mind the phycological factor as the season draws in. If we are still top with 4 or 5 to go there's no way we lose a game with that momentum. If we are battling for the top 2 each game is nervy. By the time we face Blackpool we could be all but assured of a top 2. On the other hand fighting tooth and nail.

Yup very tough games away, Lincoln, Accrington and Gillingham. Very tough games some of those games away give me nightmares. When you have been away to those grounds you really do realise how tough those games are no matter where we are league in comparison..
