I thought Kelly was dissppointing.
Agreed but I still thought he was better than Walsh. I thought Walsh over complicated things at times and gave the ball away too often.
I feel a bit mean for being critical.

Is Kelly just knackered???

Usually he misses big chunks of the season with injury, and this time (other than early on when Walsh came in) he hasn't. He seems a yard off everything.

Back three were like trojans today... just a great day!

Marosi 7
Hyam 9
Mcfadz 9
Rose 8
Dabo 8
Macallum 7
Walsh 8
Kelly..4..(I'm generous with 4).was one of my fav player...something very wrong. Didn't want the ball. Gave ball away at every OPPO. Abysmal. How can some say he improved 2nd half? He was at fault for their non goal. We totally carried him.

Allen 9..motm
Ohare 7
Godden 8

Baka. 6...was good substitution.

Marosi - 7 He looked bored!
Dabo - 7 worked hard but didn’t get down the line too much in the 2nd half and leaked a few opportunities
Hyam - 9 solid all day
Mcfadzean - 9 solid all day
Rose - 9 solid all day!
McCallum - 7.5. The better of the 2 wing backs and worked hard
Kelly - 6.5 not great but not awful, sloppy passes in the first half especially. Looks tired, would swap for shippers
Walsh - 7.5 decent game but some lapses of concentration in the second half
Ohare - 8 constant running machine, just wish his final play was complete but then if it was he would be a prem player
Allen - 9 fantastic today, never stopped and creating chances, the difference between the two sides today MOTM
Godden - 8.5 ran his socks off today, some things didn’t work out but got into the right positions

fans - 8.5 loud and constantly backing the boys

Excellent team performance. Kelly’s distribution (and shooting) let him down but he made great interceptions and battled for everything. The CBs just get better every game...stopped Sunderland from any decent attempt on goal (apart from the offside). McCallum not as good in air but defensively sound second half. Dabo...one of his least effective performances for a while...but still a fantastic engine. In midfield Walsh did what was required; O’Hare and Allen (my motm) closed them down and ran at them effectively. Godden worked fantastically hard first half (should have scored a second)...and Baka did some important running/chasing when he came on. Overall 8s and 9s all round...they all played a part. When we get the ball down and move it quickly we look unstoppable.

Top of the league...and deservedly so. I’m starting to believe.

Kelly was better second half but no doubting something isn't quite right. There was a time in the second half he chested it down with no one anywhere near him and then just hoofed it up in the air falling over. It wasn't long ago I'd bank on him never giving the ball away in any situation. Luckily for us we have 1 game a week now for a while so rest is welcome.

Glad we're out the cup now

Needs a rest mate nothing more than that but we don’t have anyone in there to help him I’m certain he will come out the other side couple days rest this week maybe will help

Godden has his best all round game for us only let down by the late miss
That chance wasn’t easy mate ball was bouncing on his wrong side to get a foot around it from that angle and was still far ish out he took it on early on another day it creeps in the near post

Kelly hasnt been great but he's our skipper, we're 13 unbeaten, lost 3 all season and are top of the league. We need to mess with our formation to exclude him. He's out of form, in truth he might need a rest, but let's not hound him out of the team and suggest dropping him whilst things are going so well. Hopefully he'll play through it.

I’m certain he will come with a storming game soon possibly Saturday

I was hoping he would cut across the defender, he either gets brought down and it's a red for their player or he gets the ball on the right side for a decent finish. Not important as we won anyway

it’s absurd - he runs and runs and is the most committed loaner from a premier club I can remember - he’s totally committed as if he’s on a ten year contract - Biamou would have been shocking in that game
There you go again - how can you say that Biamou would have been shocking? Biamou MIGHT have been shocking, but you insist on stating such things as facts.

No he’s far too slow and it’s why he wasn’t included

I watched the full game again on Sky sports when i got in yesterday. Maybe im being a tad harsh on Kelly. Hes been brilliant for us for so long.

The drop in quality and experience to eccles yesterday would have been a big gamble for Robins. Hes obviously carrying an injury.
