We got 16,500 v Sunderland at the Ricoh in a game in 2018 and there was nothing at all riding on it, so its a very reasonable assumption that given where we are and how we're doing there would have been be a fair few more at the Ricoh this season.

The game you might be talking about is Walsall where there was close to 16,000 which was a Tuesday

Even so, that Walsall game was nearly 16000, with around a 1000 away. That's what I'd imagine would have been there last night, especially if it was £15.
Sundays are a nightmare. My lad can't make his mind up whether to play for his team or go to the game, but I'm sure he'll choose the city in the end. It can work the other way though, lots of people work Saturdays.
Don't agree with those estimates, but as mentioned above, pointless argument because it is impossible to be proved right or wrong.

Judging by results on ploughed fields and difficult conditions at Tranmere, Southend and Rochdale it probably would still have been a top of the table game.

They've shown that they can cope and that they can win with some really poor pitches. The three mentioned are probably the worst, many others have hardly been pristine. Even the pitch at St Andrews has started to show signs of wear and tear. I think we have a team this year that will get results irrespective of the pitch.
(Just as an aside look at the quality an excellent Derby County footballing team produced on a quagmire of a Baseball Ground pitch in the 70s)

Mate, this isn't the 70s. We play football on the ground and the Ricoh was full of divots all over the pitch last year that resulted in us over playing, taking too many touches and losing points, as MR said himself. We also struggled to get into rhythm against Bristol Rovers in the cup following the Tranmere game with Robins blaming *drum roll* the pitch at Prenton Park. If you think we'd been able to get the same results all season on a pitch that rolls up like a carpet and is about as smooth as sandpaper then me and MR disagree with you.

This game, was on Sky last year and got 16k, our attendances rise about 10% YoY with relative success. To think it’d be lower isn’t “realism” it’s attention seeking pessimism.

Was it Bright who the ball was passed to on the ground and it hit a bit of turf and just bounced over his head. I think people forget how bad a pitch is is. St Andrews is a bit bear at the moment but it's flat and playable the Ricoh pitch wasn't just missing grass it just was nowhere near level.
