You can always tell a yorkshireman, but you can't tell him much!!! or yorkshire born, yorkshire bred, strong in't arm, thick in't 'ead.
(my roots are in Lancashire, so long time dislike of yorkies)

Got to admit, I played using this team :(

Disappointed not to get 3 points. Once again we out played them. said we were the better footballing team. Best footballing side in the league were robbed..... Hahahhahahahhaha fucking amazing response to that game. Thought first half they did and second half they were lucky with a few pen shouts in it was probably a fair result... If not slightly towards us...

Match stats suggest the draw was bang on.
Deluded if they view that as out playing us

I don't think anyone from either side will be too disappointed with the draw to be honest.
I'm certainly not. Really need to turn the Mackems over now though.

They're a good side, definitely the favourites for the league. We've shown tonight that we're at a very similar level however, and we have a great opportunity to get promoted this season.

You do realise the quote about being disappointed was from their board?

Yes. Which represents a small section of their support. I don't think the majority ( admittedly I said anyone) will be disappointed. You always get the odd contrarian.

You're right. But we're chalk and cheese in terms of approach.
That's 22 goals from set pieces in 32 games. An incredible stat but you can see what their philosophy is.

If it works it works. Like it or not it's a very effective way of winning games in this division. Probably doesn't translate too well to the division above, as shown by the fact they can't seem to stay there, but alas they appear to have certainly figured this division out.

Totally agree. And I've paid to watch far worse at City over the years but I love our brand of football over the last 2 or 3 yers and hope it's something we're identified with for years to come even after MR has gone.

You can see how they blow teams away with their height and physicality but you can also see why they've lost more than we have as they don't have a lot else and if you just have bigger and stronger defenders you can keep it tight and nick a goal against them.

I wasn't overly impressed with them. Big team, very cynical. Mainly hoof it to the big gallute upfront and try and play-off him. Rely on set pieces. We have handed them 4 points on a plate this year.

They'll be going up automatically i beleive. Almost the perfect team for league 1.

I think we'll be with them though and I think we stand a better chance of survival in the championship with our style and approach compared to theirs.

They couldn't get away with playing like that in the Championship.

If we win our next two games then I'll firmly say we are good enough for the top 2! Very tight up there though!

Agree - would take 4 points from the next 2, though, if I'm honest.

Rotherham reminded me of Accrington in their league 2 winning year. The sum of the parts were greater than the individuals and you can see why they would be a yo yo side.
That said in the first half an hour I felt that we hadn't started and they were turning the screw without looking too dangerous.
I would definitely take a couple of their players(loanees I believe) to put in our side next season, their runners are mobile and skillful and looked like they would flourish in the championship.

Once Robins had got to grips on Rotherham game plan then thre was only one team going to win it - Rotherham chased and harried every ball in the first 30 mins but ran out of steam - We came into it the last 15 mins of the first half and the whole second half and on another day would have won it

See I thought they mixed it up well. Some of their football was decent.

but yeah - they definitely have the nous and Cuteness about the way they go about things.

that’s one thing that we don’t have, the ability to bully teams

As we've seen many times before you can get promoted by being big, strong and quick. Rotherham have just taken that to the extreme and build a team of giants. Problem is you can't do anything in the Championship with that and it's really difficult to completely change a team in one summer so they always come back down.

We went toe to toe with them last night, once we got used to the physicality we gave it back and they didn't like it. They did play some nice passages of football but our nice passages were way above them, Walsh's run and shot would never have come from them against us.

Good ref = 3 points for us.

I'm certain, having been so recently a Championship team, that they will have a much larger budget than us. That we can build a team to compete, let alone play better football, is a massive credit to the whole management team.
