Should we be favourites? (1 Viewer)

I checked 2 bookies and both have us as second favourite behind Rotherham to both win the league and get promoted. We’re level on points with a game in hand, should we be favourite?

Rotgerham also battered us earlier in the season so that plays a factor.

Let's see what the bookies think after the Sunderland game.

If we win that game then watch it change however but agree with Otis. They have been more consistent throughout the season but let’s face it it’s anyone’s out of about 6 who can keep going

Would be good to see all the pressure on the other teams and for us to appear in the right place at the end of the season - Robins doesn’t need any unwanted pressure - all you betting bods can get better odds !

Didn’t batter us it was a freak game with dodgy goals & decisions

More consistent? We've only been beaten 3 times all season, we're 4th in the "home" table and 3rd in the "away" table, we've not had any really hot streaks or really bad streaks of results. Id say we are the model of consistency.

Sat on a coach travelling back on Saturday and one pessimistic fan still wasn't committed to us making the play offs!

You look at the top 6 and all the big hitters are in there albeit Ipswich who should be instead of Wycombe who are rightly there on merit.
Its still up for grabs and lots of people are getting carried away though, I would take the playoffs still now if truth be told.

No it wasn't, McFazdean was rightly sent off and their forwards were two big lads that gave our defense a torrid time.

Worse I've seen Cov play for a couple of years.

I'd rather we weren't.

We had a player sent off & conceded 2 penalties is that not a freak result ? Show me a game in the past month in the whole on England that ended that way.

we did get bullied well mason did at left back where crosses constantly came in from probably what got him dropped in favour of McCallum for.

I don't care one bit. Its only a reflection of where all the money is going anyway, its not an assessment of who the bookies think will go up.

Both penalties were penalties. It weren't a freak results, we played crap and were undisciplined.

Sheff Wed lost 5-0 at home to mid-table Blackburn last month. They had one player sent off and conceded an own goal.

I wouldn't say it was a freak result, we made mistakes and got punished. It was certainly out of character though and was part of what has made this team what it is today. There will be memories of that game going into Tuesday, Id like to think we are in a place where those memories will bring out the best of us

We've lost 3 games all season, only 1 team from the 91 has lost less, we've conceded the second fewest goals in the division & if it weren't for that game it would be the least conceded- there is absolutely no doubt that was a freak result

Found this analysis of teams' run-ins until end of season on SoccerStats. Interestingly we have on paper the most difficult run in, alongside Doncaster based on average points per game of the teams we have yet to play. Ipswich then Peterborough have the easiest run in based on PPG. Ourselves, Sunderland, Portsmouth and Fleetwood's next 4 fixtures all look relatively more difficult, against teams averaging 1.45 PPG or higher (ours being highest at 1.53). Will be an interesting end to the season.

really around 15 points from 14 games should more or less get us to the play offs
We should really be discussing Autos or Champions :)

I think points needed for play offs may be higher this season, around 75/76 simply because no one is running away with autos.

and one of the reason previous opponents for us is low, as we have beaten most of them!

That would need Fleetwood probably to get 24 points from 14
possible, but they then play Portsmouth twice who would then need 22 points from 12
And then Peterboro 20 from 11

And dont worry - we will Run away with the autos!

Which would certainly be the preferable outcome for us all!

We're 0.19 more difficult that Peterborough but have 3 extra games to play and are already two points ahead. We'd have to seriously nosedive to finish below them in my opinion.

Yes, but notoriously, that can count for nothing, because teams seemingly all but doomed, or in danger of going down, often turn the form book on its head as the season draws to a close, and start winning.

Agreed, but it may not be Peterborough who finish above us (hopefully no one will), the point being we are clearly playing more teams who are higher in the league and still have their own hopes of play offs or autos.

Let's hope so, with the exception of Rochdale on Saturday!
