Yeah we've had this chat on PM Havant we?!

My address says Havant but I'm the otherside of Bedhampton, the Cosham side so more Portsmouth than Havant.

Bedhampton railway crossing was just up the road from where I used to live.

Lived in Leigh Park for a few years too. The only time you saw two people walk down the street was when they were handcuffed m8

Beginning to think it’s our main tactic. False sense of security kind of thing. Subs come on, we change our style of play almost by intensifying our attack.

Feel like I’ve explained it badly, but I know what I mean.

it is interesting this season because we are not really sure what our best starting 11 is, this is obviously a good sign. would not want marosi, macfadzean, kelly, walsh, o' hare or godden injured but after that we have the squad to cope. using the squad intelligently is great, no issue with max but he probably does not score that goal if he plays from minute 01, we should appreciate the contribution godden makes even when he does not score, would take a point next week.

Next game, Biamou is would be a good value for a start. Probably alongside Gooden with O’Hare behind those two. Otherwise, I’d start Shipley and O’Hare behind the striker if we stick with the 3-4-2-1.

Great day, first away game with my son. Parked in their car park, sorted. Was crappy weather, and anyone expecting nice little triangles in that wasn’t there.

Thought we played the game just right. Dominated possession, were the only team making chances and their fans were very quiet. They spent more effort booing Dabo than getting behind their team. We soaked it up first half, but the subs made the difference. O’Hare just looks so dangerous when he comes on against tired legs. Seems to actually have a passion for us as well, top man.

Dabo was Dabo. He is what he is and if you stop that part of his game you stop his game. Still love him.

McFadz was a rock at the back.

Excuse the gormless look but I had been standing in the pouring rain and gale force winds. Wasnt the stadium but the Pompey in the Community centre just next to the ground. Raised about £800 for the local branch of MIND.

And three points for City and joint top. Magic

long short but was he the kid with haribo tangfastics ? he muched that entire packet down in a quicker time that i would have had a pint (if they bloody served them, and we were allowed to actully have a beer in the stands)

He had some Haribo starmix (random conversation klaxon) but not tangfastic. Ha. I think you might be thinking of someone else, he did have some sweets but he usually makes them last for at least the first half (doesn’t get any more once they’ve gone!). We stood near the front by the entrance on the left side as you look at the pitch not far from where chubby checker got his top off at the end (if you saw that).

Really are you for reel. How many games you been to this season. My guess is 0000000
Yes I am for 'reel' pal. Been to loads of games this season and seen us drastically improve now Allen and Walsh have been playing over him. Westbrooke far too static and looks too take the easy option far too often.

Who we talking about here ?

for me the midfield we have to have our 4 best players starting Allen,Kelly,Walsh & O’Hare

“Far too static” he covers more miles than anyone on the pitch. There are some things he needs to improve still but static?

The encouraging thing is we have had a strong run over the Christmas/post-Christmas period, quite a rare occurence, and the fact that we have emerged from that period with an intact strong squad.

Good point I can't recollect such a strong Xmas to mid Feb period ever. Not since late 90s when we had great cup run and won 5 in a row in premier league.

I mean with the ball at his feet, rarely see him driving forward like O'Hare and Allen can do.
Different players, different styles though isn’t it. He reminds me a little of Jordan Henderson in terms of playing style. Very much pass and move rather than dribbling past people but ZW would be a nightmare to match up against in midfield because he’s just always on the move.

I see what you mean Ben. But I think that's the great thing about our midfield options - all of the players have different attributes.

Including Shippers for example who plays the most advanced midfield role very differently compared to the others - often getting ahead of the lone striker. It's what makes our midfield so special -different strengths.

Pass and go (Westbrooke as you point out) is very effective as well in breaking down defensive systems. Football crowds love long eye catching diagonal balls to wingers but in reality these balls don't break down defensive set ups. Westbrooke is not as eye catching as let's say Allen or O'Hare but he has very good qualities.

I'm about a 20 min walk from Bedhampton station. Past the Rusty Cutter, under the A3 and then another 1/2 mile

Found myself refreshing about 10pm last night. Just in case we’d gone top :emoji_face_palm:

Yup have the sky sports page paused at league one table and just stare at it!

and have the bbc league one table up on my 30inch Desktop!

Just seen Robins Interview, he’s one hell of a boring git. But just love sense of level headed ness, not allowing anyone to think or carry on like it’s a job done, no cause for any celebration just yet. The boring git is impressive.
