Hopefully, at least 2nd!

Our improved away form has really kicked us on! Hopefully we can avoid losses in our tough home games.

Last time one of these came up I said playoffs but not promoted. This time I've said 2nd. We've put an incredible run together and with the games in hand could start to pull away. Ask again in 3 games though, I think then we should know.

14 games left I reckon we need to win 9 to finish in the top two, on paper our home games are tougher though, win those 9 draw three thats 87 points, that would do it I reckon.

Is that Rochdale Rotherham and Sunderland?

Yep.

Rochdale - away against a team in the lower reaches. A banana skin that a team gong for automatics deals with easily (like we did today).
Rotherham - top of the table clash against a team with experience of getting out of this league.
Sunderland - a big club on a good run of form bringing a large away following.

6/7 points and I'll be convinced we can't blow it.

Would you be happy with a 5 point return

We are lucky enough to have all our main guys fit going into the last third of the season
If we can continue with that good fortune I fancy us to finish as champions

Delighted. Especially if the win came against Rotherham or Sunderland as it takes points away from a rival and keeps us unbeaten. I just feel like a win at Dale should happen so from there our aim should be to win at least one of the next two.

My only concern is that we don't score enough goals.

Feel that could ultimately hurt us in the run in.

I said 2nd so that I wont feel as disappointed if we are not champions.
Hedging my bets.

I went 4th as I have no success at predicting anything. So I always bet against Cov as they love proving me wrong :)

Went for 3rd, still can’t believe. Ask me again in four games.
I did..... it’s that patch of games where we play our nearest rivals that worries me.

We are in a patch of games that will decide our fate. Losing to any of the teams around us will mean they gain on us. As a worse case scenario draws is ok. Means we have to beat all the team outside the top 6.

That’s the perception, and was the case in the 1st half of the season but we’ve started to catch up.

We’re on 43 goals and only P’boro, Rotherham and Pompey have more goals than us in the top 6. You have a handful of teams from 7th-11th who have got 45-47 goals - teams we have 1-2 games in hand on.

This countered by us having the 2nd best defence in the league with only 28 goals conceded. Only Sunderland and ourselves concede less than 1 goal a game on average.

Ultra competitive league this season.

Think we have the toughest run in of all the top 6?

looking at the fixtures which are the 8 games we need to win coming from do you think?
