How many missing fans are there ? (1 Viewer)

I don't live in Coventry so I don't really know the feeling on the ground , as it were, as to how many fans we are missing, and the level of excitement in anticipation of the run in to the promotion push. . What I mean is how many would we be getting at the Ricoh during this great run that we are on.
I think it's got to be around 6,000, going on the attendance for the last home game and what was at stake.
Anyone else think a game like that might have got close to 14,000 at the Ricoh ?( I'm including away fans.)
Or am I over optimistic ?

Id reckon about 13-14k avg attendance if we were at the Ricoh. TBH not heard much from neutrals about city and there’s a few people I use as canaries. When they mention how city are doing I know we’ve broken through to the normies.

I reckon cos we haven’t been top two most haven’t noticed yet. Thatll change towards the end of the season I think.

I personally know a good few who were Ricoh regulars now boycotting.

Such a mess that in this great effort by Robins and the team only 5000-6000 are at St Andrews to witness it.

Bloody travesty.

You never do know as I get the feeling that St Andrews has more every-other-game or less attendees compared to Ricoh. I think back there though we would be looking at 12-13k average

Can’t get my head around boycotting. They blame sisu 100% for this mess ? Im at at least 90%, but still travel.

I can understand apathy on the other hand

I can’t get my head around talking just part of the fan base out of the city . leaving your city to play football at Northampton. Then the shit takes us to Birmingham.

It would be great if we were all cheering city in the same home in Cov.

They're all stuck in the Sheldon triangle i reckon, maybe they'll find their way out for the promotion party

Couldn’t agree More. We need a home. Ricoh wasn’t ours and never will be.

If we build it, they will come !!

And the missed generations in between. I just hope this gets sorted before we become a Bristol Rovers or Notts County kind of club. Both worthy of credit. But surely Coventry deserves a stable base to build from.

Averaged approx 12,300 last season and 6,300 this season so 6,000 fans missing + the estimated extra 5,000 at the Ricoh (if we were there) because we are doing so well - A potentail total of 11,000 missing fans

Mowbray team got up to around 19k in a similar position

Then Slade took about 18k off it.

No way would we get an extra 5k

If we were still at the Ricoh I recon around 15k average given current form, league position and time of year, rising as we get to the sharp end of the season especially if we’re still pushing auto’s or to secure a playoff place.

I see the same pattern happening at St Andrews and gates 10k+ before the end of the season.

Hope so the team and robins deserve it

I go to birmingham but hear all these figures about being back at Cov, 14/15000.I d hope I was wrong but think its a dream. If we we re back in Cov maybe 10000 on a good day, until last few games if we were going up when Cov “supporters “ turn up. pusb

I know groups of long-term season ticket holder types that “can’t be arsed with it anymore”. Still go away largely.

There are definitely numbers that are refusing to go to brum, whether they say it’s a boycott or not.

We have a strange set of fans.... turn out in number for some odd games like the Blues cup game then disappear when needed.

we have a lot of people who talk about being a Sky Blue ..... but simply never go.

we are a huge City..... it’s a mystery why it doesn’t back its own team... even when we were in the top flight we aspired to get crowds of over 15k .... where was everyone!!!???

I do think if we are back in Cov and back in the championship then 15 to 20k is likely. But even that’s crap. I go Forest occasionally because the neighbour gives me tickets.... absolutely rammed every time!!!!

Hold on a sec...it would help if we were playing in Coventry.

Cov fans don’t live for football but come out at key times. Usually crucial games. I think we would be nudging 20k if back at the Ricoh. It isn’t the fans that have created this situation.

the prem is expensive for fans. Why spend your dosh to pay a bunch of over paid blokes.
