Only 3 league games lost

Battled to the 4th round of the FA Cup

More than a match for a mid table Championship team (Lost on pens)

And all this while exiled in Birmingham.

It makes my pissboil that some of our fans are calling our players garbage. Godden, Baka and Biamou are frequent targets and the judgements of McFaz are all over the fucking map.

Every player Mark Robins has picked has contributed to the incredible season we’re having. Is every player lights-out every game? No. Of course fuckingnot. But that’s why we have a squad of players that MR can rotate in as form fluctuates.

I’m fuckingdone with people that go after our players for internet points.

Who cares what some of them think.

Iv had some arguments with a few of them who have been saying we arnt good enough, will finish mid table, we
Bollocks- we are terrible for it, way worse than others

Have to agree with others theres an element of this in all supporter groups.

It is going that way. If you don't stick rigidly to the 'we're amazing', 'best season eva', '2-tone tiki taka' mantras you're seen as some sort of blasphemer.

FWIW, I think we're a very good side and I often wax-lyrical about the way we play. But, I'm also aware that we only win 4 games out of 10 on average and have some weaknesses and issues that may ultimately cost us promotion. Mention that though and you get jumped on by the believers.

Yes and we lose about 1 game in 10 on average.

I don’t think anyone goes after our players for internet points. I think people get frustrated because they can see how very close we are to being incredible and it’s agonising when it so very nearly materialises but not quite.
Important difference. It comes from love of the club.

No, I don't agree. I just think they are twats. Most of them probably don't even go.

Not often we miss any games. But i was absolutely gutted that i didnt make the effort to at some points so, when i heard the sky blue army singing their hearts out felt so proud!

I really hope the fans get behind their team in the league and turn out in numbers till end of season.

It’s also a city thing. If you ever have the misfortune to visit any kind of Coventry site, Facebook or whatever- it’s a perpetual turgid moan fest.

There are too many students, too many new buildings, buildings are the wrong colour, nothing for locals to do, parking too expensive, the Wave was a terrible idea. city of culture will do nothing for me etc etc. it’s literally a non stop cascade of complaints and grumbles.

I’ve lived in quite a few places and Coventry has a much higher proportion of moaners than all of them. I’m guessing that attitude to life spills over into the football team for quite a few of them.

People just have different views on football, like life, I suppose.

One fans....Max scored one and was immense with his work rate and hold up play over the full 120 mins

Is another’s...Max should’ve scored three and cost us the game.

It depends on what type of supporter you are I guess.

Ps I was right behind the goal and whilst his first chance was a sitter, the second one (put just wide) wasn’t. If anything Allen had more of the goal to aim at before he passed the ball. No doubt he should’ve hit the target but it wasn’t a ‘sitter’ in anyone’s book. Pleased he got the third chance and stuck it away, his performance deserved that and his willingness/desire/fitness to still get in there after 115 mins should be seen as a massive positive

I know I’m always defending Biamou but that first one looked as though the cross was slightly behind him which is why it was more of a flick whilst running compared to an actual shot. Been trying to find the highlights because I could be wrong but that’s the way I saw it. The second one, he should be getting on target really.

We're doing really well this season but I don't see why it is such an issue to be pissed off when we've not won a game because:

A) We didn't take our chances
B) We switched off in injury time

Both those reasons are why we aren't running away with the league as we haven't been outplayed in almost any game this season apart from Rotherham.

The fact it happened against BCFC is largely irrelevant.

3 points Saturday and no one will care mind.

I think emotions play a big part we jump on here during or just after the game & probably say stuff the next morning we think “I maybe was a little harsh or over the top there” we love the club we want to do well we always as football fans want more & more the team & staff know we are behind them they see & hear it every week.

Highlights Coventry - no chance we are not on the agenda of the BBC I no longer listen to them and am looking forward to the list of presenters that will be sacked due to cutbacks

Just seen it and even thr sitter was a half volley from pretty pscey cross

I would start max next game personally. If hes getting positions to score thats half the battle

I don't think anyone is garbage. I think some people are perpetually negative and that must make them unhappy. I'd love to help them to be more constructive but I'm also aware that you simply cannot get through to some people. But it's not unique to us; these people are there in all walks of life.

To illustrate: I sell books online. 95% of customers are fine. 4% are lovely and we sometimes chat about all sorts of things, including books. But there is a 1% that are bloody awful; dishonest; rude and aggressive.

What about the opportunity when the ball dropped down to Biamou and he tried to knock it on to Godden and failed completely?

I think my frustration comes from a little bit of fear. This season I hold this squad in high esteem.

we should be running away with the league, we’ve been outplayed in less that 5 games all season. I worry that the games that we’re not putting away are going to cost us.

Bolton (I know the dodgy refereeing played a huge part but we had enough chances to put 10 past Bolton) and Tranmere are ones that really stick with me.

I honestly think we’re better than most in this league but we’re in the shuffle rather than leading the way

It's a fair point. If we miss out on autos we'll only have ourselves to blame and end up looking back on this as a massive missed opportunity. It's especially important this season as another year in Brum will most likely result in a massively reduced budget and MR moving on. If we can't get up now we're going to be stuck here for another few years before we get another chance at it, especially with such a weak league this time round.

This is one of the best posts I have ever read on here, if not the best. As far as I can tell every player currently in the team is giving 100%. I always laugh when I hear or read that so-and-so gave 110%, you can't give more than 100%. Every moan about a player, a poor pass, or a missed chance is doing as much damage to our promotion chances as the on-field activities by damaging confidence, or creating a negative mindset within the team. This team will take us to the end of the season, no one else is coming in, and they are good enough to get us promotion. I'm not saying it will happen but the team is good enough whatever happens in individual games re: missed chances or a poor individual performance. Moaning and negativity only makes that less likely.

Its like reading reviews about hotels on tripadvisor, could be the best hotel in the world but you will always find the lots of negative comments that will put you off. This forum is no different.

People seem to forget that in every game we play there are 11 people on the pitch who are doing everything they can to try and stop us winning. Winning and losing football matches isn't linear and 99% of the time can't be pinned simply on one player not doing their job. The hysteria from people like Martin Warren on Twitter whenever we concede a goal is the perfect illustration of what I mean.

Exactly right. Some of the resident geniuses on here namely the #listentomenow #taxiforrobins types have never played the game at any level - and are simply clueless as to what it takes and the fine margins in professional sports.

It’s all too easy to hurl abuse and try to destroy players from behind a keyboard after what is seen as a bad performance.

It got to the stage earlier this season when some loser was writing ‘AB is shit at football’ missing the fact that it’s logically impossible to have a career in the professional ranks by being ‘shit at football.’

I will never understand the need to deride and not support our players. Constructive criticism more than ok but some of the uninformed nonsense and abuse - not so much.
