I was not at the game last night but reading some of the comments on here it sounds like fatigue is starting to set in. Then there is also the chance for injury.

As it stands we have 7 games in February averaging a game every 4 days. Three days after the replay we are playing Bolton which is surly a game we are looking to win if we want the autos.

If we win the replay then the game is scheduled for the 5th of March. That would be 4 days after Sunderland and three before Ipswich, both promotion rivals. The game could cause distraction for some players against Sunderland and just increase tiredness before Ipswich.

I know the cup brings revenue and we defiantly need it. However promotion would also bring an increase in revenue, so I think play the kids in the cup and let’s give ourselves the best chance for promotion.

To put it very simply, no. We can make 11 changes and still not 'play the kids'. We don't need to make 11 changes though. A few should be rested/rotated and other than that we go again.

Nope, we just need to rotate properly.

Unfortunately we're not in the same financial position as Liverpool. Getting through and having a decent pay day at Leicester would be very welcome given how much ticket revenues are down this season.

We definitely need to rotate and should have done on Saturday.

As mentioned use the squad that’s what it’s there for he got it wrong last night with Shipley & Westbrooke we wasted the first 45 min messing about with 9 men they were passengers,can’t see how Jaime Allen isn’t getting a sniff ? I would start Allen & O’Hare for Shipley Westbrooke Saturday.

We've got the best squad we've had for years and yet the most settled first XI too. We're not maximising the benefit of that squad currently.

don't disagree. Its the cups problem not ours. I watched the Brentford game where they played their reserves v Leicester. The whole cups system needs reviewed.

It would also bring an increase in player costs which might not be balanced by the income without a huge increase in paying spectators.
I'm not sure that the club could sustain it in the present circumstances.

They should be fined in that case

The money in the Premier League now makes the FA Cup redundant for any club trying to stay in it or trying to get promoted into it. I don’t think there is a solution really

I think that we should copy Liverpool by winning every week. Not too fussed about anything else.

No, we try to win on Tuesday because:

1. We get prize money for winning the tie
2. Money for being the furthest L1 club in the competition
3. Money from ticket sales for sold out FA Cup game for the Leicester’s game
4. Maybe TV money on top of this

All of this could equate to over half a million pounds. We can’t afford to not go for it.

We should use our squad against Bristol Rovers - we beat them with a few changes in the 3rd round replay. Although, I do not know if Rover were at full strength!

They should have four of our ex players in the starting line up on Saturday Leahy,Clarke-Harris and Ogogo and Davies Just back from injury played for them last night.Mind you JCH may be off to Charlton before Saturday as they’ve bid for him!!

It’s not just the big teams Brentford made loads of changes too.

The Champions League spot for the winners was discussed before but I think the Europa League is a good enough prize for the smaller Prem clubs who haven’t played in Europe before. I don’t think any nation offers a Champions League place for the major cup

Because any gloss and magic left the FA Cup as a result of the following:

1. Messing around with replays, dates, playing the final before the end of the season
2. Loads of live games with false hype
3. Using Wembley for semi finals
4. Palace getting 14,000 tickets for the final to Man Utd’s 26,000
5. Arsene Wenger- he was the first to play reserve teams in the cup
6. Man Utd pulling out in 2000

Nobody really cares about the FA Cup any more, it represents a potential good day out and a money spinner but that’s it.

The last time I can remember the FA Cup Final being the game you had to watch and which felt like a special occasion was probably 1991 when Clough could have won it.

It’s hard to put into words how magical the FA Cup once was and how far it’s fallen, and it gets on my nerves when TV and managers refer to the greatness of the competition, it’s not great any more, the Premier League & those connected to it killed it. The only way to save it would be to reverse what they did wrong and get the mystique back- neutral venues for semi finals, the draw on Monday 11.30am, less live games, allow as many replays as needed etc etc.. and even then I doubt it would be enough, the people that pick the teams just don’t care.

I’m just glad we won it when we did in the ‘glory days’ of the competition, which will never be replicated.
