Was this lad who got jumped chanting Birmingham’s a shithole.? Until we know the full facts we don’t. He may have been a random lad that was attacked for no apparent reason

I was on about the lad in hospital.
Yes that one I agree with you 22 he was ? Maybe something happened in the roost ? Aparrsntly Blues main lad wasn’t happy cov we’re allowed in the roost apparently rang up the gaffer about him allowing it to be shared after he put it out there both teams welcome etc.

The idiot police set it up. They herded us Blues down Heath Mill Lane towards the Old Crown, and straight into your path.

None of these kid are ‘Zulus’. The old boys were most probably happily lapping up the hospitality in the main stand Exec boxes. You’ve really got to be an idiot to risk to these days.

Unfortunately incidents like yesterday happen. As for Birmingham, any hooligan book you read they all rate Birmingham zulus and they are nasty bastards. I hope not but as for the replay, I think the fuse has been lit.
If anything it could bring all their top lads out while the so called cov firm prob be sat at home lol

The lad with the cut eye was just walking back to his car I'm told.

Do you expect much grief between the 2 sides in the replay ? Any news your end on how the ground will be shared etc ?

So chanting at a football ground now gives these wankers the right to assault you?

No but it is possible to ignite something isn’t it ? We should of turned up shown respect & went home simple as it’s their ground their letting us use it & we have fans shouting “we have your ground Birmingham is a shit hole” etc same as the Roost it’s Their boozer show some respect drink elsewhere yesterday

I didn’t see any trouble before or after the game. Before the game we drank around the city centre and was a mix of Cov and Blues fans getting on sound and enjoying the day.

At about 1, a group of Cov turned up chanting, in a police escort and tried to get in the Sun on the Hill. Shock horror they couldn’t get in any pubs and the police marched them off... but I wouldn’t say it was trouble or anything like that, just daft.
The next I seen of them, they were setting fire to a half and half scarf at half time. Fair enough the scarf deserved it but you can maybe get away with playing up at MK Dons or Cheltenham but no-chance at Birmingham Away.

The atmosphere was good natured and friendly before the game but it felt like it changed as soon as the game kicked off and the chants about the ground began.

We walked through digbeth on the way back and had no problems at all but did see the mob outside The Bulls Head with scarves and hoods up. To anyone that wants to have a go and get a reaction from the Brummies, I suggest you walk through Digbeth for the replay, have a pint in the Bull or Kerryman and sing Cov songs. To everyone else, avoid it.

If you reversed the roles and Brum were ground sharing with us and this happened outside wheatsheaf as an example the same thing would happen.

I get the Roost welcoming both sets of fans, they’re a business and want as many punters in as possible. I just think out of respect, cov should of made other plans for this one off game.

I've never liked that chant, and singing it around the streets of Birmingham is idiotic in the circumstances. Then again, Blues fans singing 'Coventry's a shit hole, that's why you play here' repeatedly didn't get me foaming at the mouth either, just laughed at it. It's just shit banter.
I'm assuming this is the full of shit chant you're talking about, there were some twats in block 34 who tried to get it going but thankfully it never caught hold past a few on the left of 33, i just shook my head at the bell ends.

There’s history between these clubs and it goes back a long long way. I’m more surprised about the shock that something happened

Heard from a Blues supporting acquaintance that the lad with the fractured skull had been mouthing off in a pub (assuming The Roost ?) and got taken out for a hiding to which he got unfortunately badly injured.
Dont know anything more than that.

It was the first time in a long, long time feeling wary walking to and from a ground.

On one occasion before the game I had to cross the road as there was a group of Birmingham fans congregating on a street corner. All middle age, wearing stone Island coats and scarves, one of them with a black eye. They were 100% looking for trouble.

Also a lad on the same train back as me said he got punched in the head out of nowhere.

Steered clear it’s their boozer not ours

It's never really out of nowhere though, if you go and give it the big one then you will attract trouble.

What a load of tosh.
So these lads all turned up just in case someone bad mouthed their shit City so they could attack them.
Or would this have happened anyway?
BTW Thought the banter was quite funny.
They sang "Whose the wanker in my seat"
We replied "We're the wankers in your seat"

Don’t ever remember a game against blues where it hasn’t felt uneasy and I’m going back over the years. They’re nasty fuckers.

Somebody's dreadful City, someone's Manor, cant be taking liberties... ffs have I been in a time warp and it's 1984? Some chavvu nonsense on both sides needs calling out but do we really accept that because cheap banter is shouted at a fooball match that it's ok to get a slap? I assume if you're defending the neanderthals behaviour that xenophobia and racism are ok too as it's only a stretch from my ground my city to my country. Watch the game have a laugh have a drink before and after go home. If you can't manage that then stay away.

Lol. How the fuck would you understand the inter city rivalry? Your not even from cov so you cant possibly understand.

I said before on here that they dont like us but was told by some on here that I was talking shit. Listening to some on here youd think blues and cov have some kind of allegiance to each other. Utter bollocks. It's a shit club followed by a bunch of wankers.
