Bill Purr Paper Tiger in Netflix is worth a watch (if you like Jim Jefferies type humour)

Of the ones I've seen live, Bill Bailey and Lee Mack (both at York Barbican) had me literally in pain from the neck up. Bloody brilliant.
Saw Kerry Godliman at a very small and rather scabby theatre in Ashby de la Zouch a couple of years ago. Superb.
Al Murray at Beduth Civic Hall though... oh dear.
One (well, two) that still shocks me that I thoroughly enjoyed (as I really wasn't expecting to), was Cannon and Ball at Cov Theatre in about '81 or 2. Backed by Roger deCourcey and Nookie Bear too, which I REALLY wasn't anticipating with any relish having seen him on tv. He was bloody hilarious. Just goes to show that the platform can make all the difference.

I would love to see Lee Mack live.

In fact I know him, David Mitchell and Rob Brydon did a Would I Lie To You tour, would've been good to see.

Add Bob Mortimer to the list whilst on the WILTY theme.

Three solid left wing comedians, there’s hope for you yet

So many - and so many different views - I enjoyed Bill Bailey and the pub landlord - Sean Hughes Rip and Jeremy Hardy rip were also good - saw chubby brown at the IOM TT many years ago just turned into one massive can fight - he took cover !

I saw him at Warwick Arts Centre. It was the one where he told people about his mental health. Easily forgettable and tiresome. To the extent that some left and others slept. I went off him thereafter.

I saw a max miller YouTube vid and he is good.

Ken Dodd was amazing for the sheer energy and engagement of the audience for the 5 hours he was on stage. Only about 6 years before he died.

Some good YouTube interviews. He didn’t think much of some fellow stand ups. But the only one he thought was worth watching was Max Miller.

Frank Skinner is one of my favs,He did a dvd a few years ago had me crying also love Kevin Bridges and Frankie Boyle

Ordered my tickets for Kerrie Godliman at the glee club £60 including food is a steal really. For anybody that hasn’t been to the glee club in Birmingham go it’s very basic but very small and intimate.many of the comedians use it as a warm up place for the big shows to come and Milton Jones did his jokes for the following nights mock the week

About 10 years ago he did a gig at Weston Super Mare playhouse and I was stood outside the bar next door chatting to him,Never knew who he was until a friend told me. Seemed a nice guy down to earth!!!

Micky Flanagan, Seann Walsh, and Jason Byrne.
Excellent, all.

Ha, saw the same one. Never really seen Walsh before but I like his games set

I love Seann, but he's not around much these days. Have a look at his 'I want ALL the cheeses' skit if you can. (Maybe Youtube, but haven't checked).

Excellent collection and agree with nearly all those.....apart from Russell Howard, who I just think is not funny at all. In fact I find him anti-funny.

Nearly all the others though, spot-on.

Shes foreign and has a weird sense of humour.

Russell Howard was at a city match at the Ricoh once, a couple of people asked for photos and he wasn't that pleased so he put his hood up to hide.

I'd use Freddy Eastwoods old mans accent. He was always entertaining, even if Eastwood wasn't playing he was in his 4 year old city coat loving life.
