8 Games in 32 days (1 Viewer)

Between 28th Jan. Fleetwood (a) and 29th February; Sunderland(H).
We play 8 games in 32 days! Games coming thick and fast. Playing Tuesday/Saturday almost every week!

Point is we really do not need a replay in the fa cup! Which would be another game 9 games in 32 days would really stretch our squad. When the priority is really the league at all costs!

Blues game we need a result on the day at all costs. No Replay!!

To be fair... there were a few moans & groans around the ground regarding replays when O'Hare scored with the last kick of the game against Ipswich! However, that replay was the springboard for our improved away form.

The Bristol R replay was a great way of instantly getting MK out of their system.

Whilst I understand your theory about not wanting a replay, they are not affecting the team.

December wasn't really a busy month. Players had almost 8 days off between lincoln and Wycombe games including Xmas day. And my god they looked refreshed vs Wycombe.

not just season defining but possibly future defining.
I'm sure the whole dynamic of the political situation changes if we are a Championship side.

Maybe, but if Dabo fell ill before a league game, how more comfortable would Josh Pask feel coming in now...

In some sense true. Best half of the season waS in replay at Ipswich away. We literally did take the piss out of them. That result gave massive confidence.

Don't get me wrong... Avoiding a draw on Sat would be great... but it's just that they helped on these occasions.

We’ve got a great squad. I’m not scared of playing a few more games. I imagine the players can’t wait for the next one right now.

Could we make an agreement to play extra time and penalty s if a draw because there is no home advantage for either team

If there’s a replay I assume it’ll be a normal home game for Brum and we’ll be in the away end. They aren’t going to do half and half again are they?

Just enjoy the day and atmosphere for the day and go absolutely gung ho last 10 mins if it's even Stevens. I'd go as far and play with no keeper with Marosi partnering Godden and Max last few mins.

Really not bothered if we lose it trying to to win it!

There is a limitation to human endurance. We don’t have such a big squad like many people think. Yes, we can interchange a few parts and pieces, but the more games we play with little time for rest in between matches raises the risk for fatigue and injuries. And if anyone were to get suspended, they would greatly stretch our squad. We need to rotate players and give an opportunity to those like Mason, Eccles, Pask, Hiwula, Baka and even Kastaneer (if need be) in strategic situations to help take the stress off the other players who are working overtime.

We have crucial midweek games against play off rivals that month.
Fleetwood
Portsmouth
Rotherham

These are priorty.

Your right can't afford any injuries. Weeks rest between matches gives us our best chance to play at our peak level.

Also we don't want an unescasary midweek fa cup tie before a crucial league game on Saturday.

Successful teams always end up playing more games (cup runs - play offs etc) - it’s simply a sign we are doing well - embrace it!

This. We have the likes of O'Hare, Allen, Max, Mason, Pask, William's and Drysdale all champing at the bit for more regular game time. I'm sure the likes of them all are praying for a decent cup run just for a look in.

It is, and the run up until then is no walk in the park either.
I suppose it's to be expected when the league's so tight. And shortly you'll have a couple of teams around the relegation zone who suddenly start performing like world beaters to get themselves out of trouble.
But, it's going to be just as difficult for those around us. Run in should be really exciting from a neutrals point of view.

Really wouldn't want to travel all the way over to brums ground for a replay though

I was just looking at the fixtures and the next 6-7 weeks looks like it could define the season.

We have some very winnable fixtures against Bristol Rovers, Bolton, Southend and Rochdale.
But then we also play Pompey in amongst that group of 'easy' games, plus we then play Rotherham, Sunderland and Ipswich in a row.

If we lost no more than two of them I’d be happy. Where we are in March will tell us. That’s always been my milestone.
