The not-so-good banter when Millwall came knocking was a wake up call to the fact that a mostly right wing bunch of Londoners doesnt mix nicely with a mostly left wing bunch of Coventrians.

rob87 checking in

With no sign of the GMK site coming back up any time soon how many of us have registered and made the move from voyeur to contributor over here now?

I've seen edgy, NorthernWisdom, Daz, Godiva, Tisza, Stupot, SteveFloyd, lordsummerisle and sure I have missed more?

PS Anyone worked out which of the frothers over here is SBS/Fishy yet?

I don’t remember having any battles with porkchophill, but that’s no surprise.

I went after Kev Monks’ dour match reports & Neville’ bleating quite a few times, and you would have thought I was advocating clubbing baby seals on the halfway line

I used to post on there as PorkChopHill but someone has the name on here so I skilfully chose a new one.
Used to have regular battles with Rob87 and USskyblue which was fun at the time.

Anyone remember that Hull fan who used to give us loads every time we played them. Think he was called Westhulltiger.

Who was the guy who kept banging on about the crowds after games meaning he couldn’t get to Hobbycraft on time?

I don’t know- I could never get the hang of the multiple username thing, but I do remember once someone hacked manbat’s account and went on a rampage of issuing sick threats at various people, while the ‘real’ manbat had a complete meltdown... also Bignoj putting his home address up saying he’d fight anyone that turned up was good

Bignoj lost it at Pierce (remember him?)

Yes it’s me alright, back in Cork now but work between Cork and Bedford & travelling over to games (away in the main)- even thinking of gmk is making me laugh, those were certainly the days

... fire me a message, I don’t know how to do it

It’s THE funniest! I laughed so hard reading that thread.

There was something ridiculous and hilarious going on most days, I used to get into work and get straight onto gmk...

The first person I met ‘in real life’ from GMK was Harrogate Sky Blue, we said to meet by the East Stand Bar at 2pm, a guy showed up and started chatting away, he was was about 22 stone, wearing a Weider weightlifting belt over his jeans, tattoos all over his face and a bit ‘right wing’- I got out of there and for about a month thought that the lovely guy Harrogate Sky Blue was a massive racist thug, it wasn’t him at all

Was it The Parkgate we all met at that time ? When Badger walked so did 15 usernames. I think we carried Harrogate to the Ricoh.

Didn't everybody take the piss when there was a pic posted of you wearing a very fetching scarf?

Would be pretty sure half the site's former GMK, just a few of us hung around for longer than others ;)

As an aside, the 'new forum coming soon' message is taking on New Stadium announcement timelines!
Was never a member of GMK but form the perspective of a vibrant busy forum I like the fact were in one place.

That’s the one, you came over for Reading at home, third home game at the Ricoh, 1-1 with a Robert Page header right at the end and a pretty good atmosphere if memory serves, the match being sandwiched between the usual skinful at the Parkgate

Yep. ‘05 I think. Bones threatened to show but didn’t, Harrogate drank a keg to himself, Captain threw a pint on the floor and Smiles letched over the missus.

What was gmk (what does it even stand for?)
- Why so popular
- Please Explain everything

To you forum veterans this must be really weird but I only knew this place existed halfway through the lg2 season! So I don't know much about its history!
