I’m amazed people have any sympathy at all.

The royal family have a job and that job is pretty dull but it’s attending many events and being told what to do and where to go and have to accept a degree of public scrutiny.

This is classic cake and eat in territory. The issue has entirely been caused by them refusing constantly to accept the rules of the game. They try to politicise the role with stands on environmental matters then show these rules don’t apply to them

The job involves having the baby photographed and allowing photographers in the Wimbledon royal box.

They live and will continue to live a life of extraordinary privilege and want the luxuries and not the work.

I doubt they’ll be paying the taxpayer back for the £2 million redecoration of Frogmore cottage and I doubt that they will be going hungry anytime soon

It can’t be a difficult job look at the age of the older royals and they all look well. I hope with their new found freedom that includes them paying for their own security but if we have to pay it should be for Harry and the boy only I am afraid Meghan takes her chances.

They don't have to keep the titles. If they want to step back they can become Prince Harry & Megan Windsor. - might hurt the marketing a bit.

Somebody has just rung up this morning to say they are so angry and they have unfollowed them on Instagram.
How times have moved on from the Britishness of writing a stern letter

Just google John Loughrey - John should not be allowed out on his own

How is the country expected to function when Prince Philip, Andrew and now Harry are all stepping back. Somebody has to do the work!

The fact the ‘Royal Family’ have more to say on this than the incredibly questionable behaviour of Andrew speaks volumes.
Press and others used to think the nickname "Randy Andy" was amusing - what a lad etc. Not laughing so much now are they.

No it doesn’t as this is a constitutional issue

Actions speak louder than words Ian, Prince Andrew has been pretty much sacked !

Also, I don’t think it would be wise to publicly comment on a family member when they might be involved in an ongoing police investigation !

I doubt Andrew will be having to apply for job seekers allowance... about as much chance as him being convicted of anything.

Of course he’ll be fine financially, the point was more around the Royal Family taking the appropriate actions

5Live breakfast were playing clips that suggested they believe this current flounce (to use an SBT term!) to be on a par with the abdication of Edward VIII. Ludicrous.
I don't get the "racism" claims every time anyone criticises her. She's just not done many things to make her popular, maybe?
But no doubt the will continue to court the media, and remain on social media to promote themselves, instead of fucking off into a cave and never coming out (other than to give the UK taxpayer their money back).
When someone dips below 5th in line to the throne, they should be signed off anyway. He is now 6th, and Archie 7th, IIRC.

Lovely we get the security bill for all of this as they require constant armed security from the met police, so some coopers are going to love their jollies on this

search her name on the Daily Mail website and then read the comments section, that might enlighten you to the racism claims.

Maybe - but equally the Harry/Meghan story is not a drama... it’s their choice.

oh they are giving up all their benefits? I bet.

Correct. There are undoubtedly racist undertones, beit her being mixed race or american. It's more about institutional racism and the way things are framed rather than the overt racism.

A good example is the stuff Sterlijg highlighted. Same 2 stories, but framed completely differently...

Her treatment in the media was hugely positive until she decided she didn’t really want to do the job
