I always think it is good to play someone who has consistently beaten you purely on the basis that the bad run has to end sometime. However, I think back to the seemingly endless winless run against Villa and even our inability to win at Shrewsbury and the reality is that these runs can go on.
The way we have played at places like Sunderland, Peterborough and Ipswich means that we can go into this game knowing that we can compete with the best teams in the league. We need to avoid a Rotherham style start to the game and if we do I think we will be okay. It will be interesting to see how Wycombe play and to have an insight into how they have become so dominant. As far as I know they haven’t drastically changed personnel and if Akinfenwa is still playing regularly, presumably their tactics are still the same. They were less than impressive in the two games against us last season so what has brought about their improvement?
No idea really as they weren't much better than relegation fodder, can't see them sustaining this

Hopefully the extra rest will stand us in good stead. Said it before Shrewsbury that we needed to get the monkey off our back with an away win and with every game more that goes by it becomes even more important.
I’d be disappointed with a draw (though some will see it as a good result) and a victory is a must if we think we are as good as some people are saying we are.

Keep the team the same, nice strong bench if we need to change things up. Jones, Allen, Hiwula, Biamou all capable of changing a game.
I would keep JJ out of this one as he does not need another bad kick. He is only just coming back so keep him for the games he is less likely to get injured in,

IF Portsmouth (31) beat Wycombe (43) then we have a game in hand (us 34), plus the next game they play is against us. If we beat them we can catch them and it will be 3 losses out of 3, even if they draw against Portsmouth then we could be only 4 points behind.

If Wycombe win the Portsmouth game it strengthens our position on Play-offs, so basically if we win our games, not all but most we will be in the play-offs. So the Taxi can fuck-off for now XXX

I really don't get this, but i accepted that. Then you posted this,
we lose to a higher placed team Wycombe, we lose 30 points (ok that is fine) , if we beat a higher placed Wycombe team we get 14 points, err no we don't.
we get ONLY +14 points (only 14 for a win when we lose 30 for a loss, but they are ahead of us???),
but if we draw we lose -8 points.???
If we lose -8 points for a draw then that must mean we were favourites to win thus the negative points for the draw,
but i've now confused myself.

Hmm think I’d go with 5-3-2 on this one though think he will prob play 4-2-3-1 to try to get all our midfielders in.

Anyhow team I’d like

Marosi
Dabo
McCallum
Rose
Hyam
McFadzean
Kelly
Walsh
Westbrooke
Godden
Biamou

subs: Wilson, Mason, Shipley, O’Hare, Allen, Jones, Baka

can’t see us going 2 upfront think we will beat them.

I think the wheels have begun to fall off Wycombe.

They have a very good home record, compared to our away record. I’m predicting a 1-1 draw but with the rest we’ve had and their current form hoping for a 3-0 win.

They are 6 points clear of third and we’re yet to win away, I doubt they’re losing much sleep. Other teams underestimating them has probably worked in their favour too.
They won’t finish in autos I don’t feel mate

Think we could do with the more physical presence of Biamou up top for this and I hope we can get the likes of Shipley/Westbrooke/Allen up close to support him. I'm assuming MR won't play two strikers. As we had Boxing Day off McCallum could play this one but with Tranmere so soon I'd only play him in one of the two and Mason in the other. Which way round is the question though - more attacking opportunities against Tranmere but he is the taller which could be beneficial against Wycombe. Same with the likes of Shipley and Allen who probably will suffer playing games in quick succession and will be replaced by Westbrooke and O'Hare in the next fixture

Marosi
Hyam.....Fadz.....Rose
Dabo...Kelly...Walsh...McCallum
Shipley...Allen
Biamou

Subs: Wilson, Mason, Pask, , Westbrooke, O'Hare, Godden, Hiwula

I honestly think they will be bricking themselves and want to stop the rot. Wouldn't be surprised if they set up negatively and try to score from set pieces or on the break. Time for us to play 2 up front away again, keep them under pressure from the off.
