The away form (1 Viewer)

Since the 5-4 win at Sunderland our away record in league reads as:

Pompey 2-1 L
Doncaster 2-0 L
Bolton 0-0 D
Pompey 3-3 D
Oxford 3-3 D
Burton 0-0 D
Rotherham 4-0 L
MK Dons 0-0 D
Peterborough 2-2 D
Sunderland 1-1 D
Shrewsbury 2-1 L

We have had almost a complete change of personnel from last season so I think Robins needs a serious rethink about how we’re setting up away.

Something is wrong it’s not by chance or coincidence this poor away for something is not right and it surely comes from management setting the team up

In 5 of the last 7 we have conceded late equalisers/winners we’ve been very unlucky easily could’ve won 6 or 7 of those 11

The away form is not good enough if we’re going to stay in the play offs, it’s just not good enough.

Mcfadzean interviewed, said players were gutted, gaffer told them how shrews would be physical, we got small players but we battle, dont want to be physical, want to play football, we switched off for their 2nd need to play to whistle.
To be fair he did sound absolutely gutted.

Physicality is part of mens football. It’s not youth football where it’s development based

Him and Allen were the only players that can take any credit today, rest were absolute dog shite

You can see it clear as day we are more negative away... This smells of the league 2 season all over again where we should have done better but we're too negatively set up for way too long during the campaign and the shackles came off way too late

We were happy with the draw when they equalised, they wanted the win.

Been unlucky in a lot of those, but we dont help ourselves. We try to defend leads when we're not capable and as much as I dislike Baka, it was criminal when Biamou went off to replace with Godden.

In that set up Godden needs a partner. Max holds it up well, Baka would've added height for both ends. If we were chasing a goal it's different but at 1-0 up should've gone like for like imo.

I also keep saying it but I want Brandon in the team. Sam will be good and offers more going forward in a 5 when we play 3CH, but defensively in a 4 he's not ready yet. I kniw so many love him on here, but out of position too often for me.

McCallum was really poor today and I have him ahead of mason

You dont like Mason? Bssed on what? So consistent, rarely makes a mistake and sticks to his position. Less expansive going forward and no long throw, but should be starting imo

I like him mate I prefer McCallum slightly but today he was very poor mason to come back in next game

2 FA Cup away games - 2 wins out of 2
League away games since Sunderland - 0 wins out of 11

Because cup games it's KO - you have to win the game. League you can take the draw and go again. Trouble is after 23 (well, 22) games you suddenly realise you needed to win some of those but it's too late.

Yeah, Robins post match comments basically confirm that. He was waiting for us to regain control of the game without doing anything to facilitate it
Surely he should have been doing his job. We had lost control from the beginning of the second half and never looked like regaining it. He should have seen what we could see was coming. We could and should have won that but his stubbornness cost us 3 pts.

Well everyone said we need to draw our away games so on that reckoning we are actually 2 points better off.

Up the Robin's way......
