Ponticelli - Call the poor guy back now (1 Viewer)

Really? So he didn't put chances in the net when playing for our U18's? Or when he's played for the U23's? Or have a good goal per minute ratio in our first team on limited appearances and time as a sub? When exactly has he consistently failed to score when playing?

I hate to break it to you but this is adults football now and oddly every manager he’s worked with do not consider him his enough - which tells me something

Don't deflect. I asked when he's played for us at any level when has he failed to put the ball in the net on a pretty consistent basis.

The u23 games are a practice match, the pace they're played at and the intensity is nothing like proper competitive football.

He’s played 24 league games and scored in 2 - he’s utter rubbish and it’s laughable when people’s stock improves by not playing

Amount of actual time he's been on the pitch in those matches

Indeed they are. Doesn't explain his GPM being the best out of all our strikers last time he was a regular member of the first team squad.

It proves the stat is irrelevant

All it proves is you want the stat to be irrelevant. Please answer the question on how many ACTUAL minutes he's played.

Adam me Fondre is a better forward in the premier league than Alan Shearer - he has scored in 2 games you clown

And? I never said it was the only consideration. Van Gogh was a shit artist - only ever sold one of his paintings.

The debate is hypothetical. He looked out of his depth during his rare appearances in League 2 and Robins isn't going to pick him in League 1. Simple really.

Because we're a team who's missing piece is someone to stick the plethora of chances we get in the net. Tranmere are scrapping away and just looking to create the odd chance to nick a win after defending for the entire game.

Two entirely different scenarios requiring different types of player.
Neither of which is Ponticelli.

He's worked for four managers in the football league Mark Robins - Mark yates at Macclesfield who was sacked shortly after he arrived and Sol Campbell who took over - His loan spell at Macclesfield was a write off as he was injured the majority of his time - He then went to Tranmere and played 45 mins

If you want a mirror image of Ponticelli and how his career might progress, then many might remember Paul Culpin - A fans favourite, and the questions were the same why is he not getting game time? - Paul played 9 games for Cov 2 goals and then went onto play for Northampton 23 goals 63 appearances Peterborough 14 goals 47 appearances - He made his name at Nuneaton Borough who played in what is now the National League he scored an incredible 131 goals in 150 games in his first stint and went back after his football league experience and scored 72 goals in 102 games

He also stepped up to the top flight from non league . Massive jump

How many divisions was that drop from ccfc though? Equivalent of non league given where we are now?

Wow can’t believe some of the comparisons being made between JP and world class players. We looked out of his depth in League 2 and considering we’re trying to get promoted, he is certainly nowhere good enough for us.

But what evidence in that small sample size suggests it isn't worth increasing the sample size for further analysis?

The fact all managers who see him never pick him - so a sample size of managers - 100% conclude not good enough

I trust their collective judgement above your delusions

Managers who see him day to day in training alongside our other strikers he’s still in the development stages feel but that loan to Tranmere I felt at the tjme was the wrong one

Yep get him back put him out of his misery and release him to Coventry United he is nowhere near good enough at league level!

However no reason why he couldn't get back to league level if he proves himself consistanlty at a lower level!

Another deflection from the point made. What in his actual playing time and scoring record suggests he doesn't deserve more game time?

Why don't you trust our manager's belief in Biamou but not in JCH?

He was on Tranmere's bench again today but did not get any game time, despite the fact Tranmere desperately needed goals and ended up losing 1-0.

I havent seen anything to suggest we should pull him back, put him in our team and he would be the answer.
