Well ill be honest , just been out to vote labour, jezza is not really my cup of tea but i couldnt vote for doris and his austerity, zero hours contracts and more foodbanks shit , which i think if he gets a sizable majority will really ramp up.

But not enough of us are convinced of it are we? And the majority of people once they own their own home or earn a certain level of income seem to change their attitude from idealistic to currently reality to protect what they have.

Now, here's a question, do we all vote what is best for us as an individual, or do what we vote for what we feel is best for the country, even though it could be to detriment of own individual circumstances?

I own my own home, have a certain level of income, (though doesn't that apply to everyone?), but would love a society similar to the ones Shmmeee refers to.
It's not idealistic, it's totally selfish, sacrifice some monetary wealth for healthier, happier life style for myself and my family - no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

Most people wont even consider it. They will vote for who they've always voted for.. thinking it's the best option, whatever policies the party has.

We don't ALL do anything except live, breathe & die.

My previous post sums it up I think. Once we have personal comitments/responsibilities like kids to look after is the obvious one...we tend to become what is going to place us in a better position to provide the best we possibly can for them. The more general social responsibility diminishes & efforts in that direction to most people becomes relatively token.

Maybe, but I feel it has become a lot more mudded these days and there isn't the stark difference that there perhaps used to be between the parties. Labour - working class and the poor, Conservative - Middle to upper class and the rich.

Sometimes I think it is hard to know what Labour and the Lib Dems stand for and I am not just talking about now under Corbyn. Blair's New Labour mudded the waters for sure.

Mainly austerity has caused the problems so yep tories take most of the blame. Happy to support foodbanks and pay more of my salary in taxes that will make our society fairer
