3 new sites identified by SISU/Council (2 Viewers)

Who should I ask haven't been in over a year and don't know them personally, only CJ and he has enough shit off here without me wading in as well.

Enough shit? He's been asked simple questions about it and had contradictions pointed out.

It was the same when people asked Michael about his takeover bid and people were acting like he had been assaulted.

When Maton was quizzed last time, one of his recommended sites was having houses built on it at the time.
I get that, but ultimately whilst I’m happy for wasps/council bashing, if there are 3 potentially viable sites we need to see why SISU can’t build on it.

this is the type of pressure I want on SISU

I’m sure the trust will be on hand to push this one. It’s SISU that need to give answers

If you read the way it was worded also it says the council had suggested others and not that they were in talks about others.

It was massively misleading from the Telegraph when they put the article out for some reason.

CJ and Neil seem to be silent about it though....standard.

I mean even if they have suggested sites - you’d assume it was in the council remit to suggest.

would like to know the sizes etc after all suggestions or talks - ultimately it has to be feasible for a ground and training ground

Would there be enough land for a stadium adjacent to the Higgs Centre.

I do remember hearing that one of the sites (on the list published in April) was in Whoberely, Im assuming on the big green by the Brook. Wish I could find that list again, I cant remember who or where it was posted

From the latest supporters group meeting minutes. If it was anyone but SISU you'd probably say it sounds quite positive but past experience tells us not to believe anything until they start building!
Following on from the last update where DB said the Owners have ‘re-engaged a land agent’, a long list of 18 sites was developed, which has been whittled down to 6.

There is a meeting in the very near future to whittle down to the ‘preferred’ site. It will be continually evaluated, as other land may become available between the designated preferred site being identified and then subsequently purchased.

2 of the 6 on the shortlist have been suggested by Coventry City Council. DE asked if all sites were in the Coventry boundary – DB said he did not know, as he did not know the sites currently until the shortlist meeting.

What sites are we thinking?
If they had a list of 18 sites which they've shortened to 6 got to assume it includes sites outside the city boundary. I'm struggling to come up with 6 inside it let alone 18!

I would guess at Woodlands, somewhere around Warwick Uni, phase 2 of the Airport development, by the MTC, the site the other side of the motorway near the Ricoh they were looking at before and Brandon. Picked those purely on the basis of not being able to think of any others!

Not that we will be building anything but is that Rugby Club off Pickford green lane in the boundary?

The boundary on the a45, assuming the sign is in the right place, is right after the Land Rover garage and the rugby club is the turning a few feet later.

Personally if its that close to the boundary it doesn't make any difference to me personally but I know some people are insisting they won't go if its a centimetre over.

it’s an obvious place with easy road access to A45

That site at Pickford Green Lane is possibly partly in Solihull Borough. Difficult with it being in WM Green Belt. Windmill Village golf course, maybe somewhere near Cov Airport or an old industrial/retail park - those places days are numbered. Woodlands within walking distance of Tile Hill still has a little bit of merit. Community stadium at the Butts would have been the best place but not feasible now. Might need an independent fans lead project team to knock CCC and SISU heads together. NOT THE F*****G TRUST THOUGH !!!!!!

Could Hersal common be one? Not sure if it would be suitable mind
I’ve said this before the bottom end of Hearsal Common where the fair ground is held is easily the best inner city option for a new stadium it ticks lots of boxes, fairly central, easily accessible, very little housing nearby, train station on the doorstep, large industrial estate nearby where good car parking could be made and the area not that far from Tile Hill, Canley and Easter Green areas whicn could get benefit from a facility like that.

It’s not green belt for long. The golf course is selling half to the council and the whole land to the lane is planned for 3,500 homes, shops and a new road structure

Is that bit big enough for a stadium though? You might be able to squeeze a small 20k stadium on there but if we want success/ambition for the future then surely we'd need a ricoh size stadium? If the owners were to build a ground we don't want to limit ourselves by building something small with no room to expand?
The only downside is the farmhouse has lost its alcohol licence!

Is anyone really buying this cobblers again?
No, of course not. And people have caveated their replies with their disbelief. However, just like a transfer rumour, doesn't stop people being speculative!

There is no new ground , the sites are a tick box exercise , SISU cannot say they aren't still looking, to either the football league or to Wasps , sadly we are all still pawns in the big 3 players game. The desperation from some to believe is really sad and not helping anyone . The only option is eventually the RIOCH but on what terms , that's what the game now is all about

Nobody believes it, but if there are viable sites - as fans we need to push SISU on this. Call them out.

the Ricoh isn’t viable unless we own at least 50% of it
