Sideways Sammy has set up a survey for CCFC team of the Decade.

I went:

Westwood, Christie, Stokes, Turner, Fleck, Maddison, Wilson

Manager: Robins

Only one which was difficult was the left back position, not much quality in that compared to the other positions.

I've gone for Westwood, Christie, Stokes, Cranie, Fleck, Baker, Mcgoldrick

Baker in because he had a couple of good seasons, can't pick a loanee or Maddison really

Westwood, Christie, Adams, Willis, Fleck, Murphy, Mcgoldrick, Robins. Guessing he’ll take 1st and 2nd for some positions.

I can’t believe people are putting in Stokes, Mason is the far better player imo. Don’t get me wrong Stokes was a good player defensively but I feel attacking wise he was very limited.
Had a purple patch, got a bad injury and not quite the same player when he got back, shame but a fact.

Been promoted to L1 twice in the last 2 years and released both times before the season started - obviously Bury was down to unfortunate circumstances.

He’s at Stevenage now who are 5 points from staying up

I would have thought we should be judging these players on their performances for us rather than what they've gone on to do elsewhere. We've not had the greatest group of left backs in the last 10 years so I can see how Stokes would be the selection by many. On the same basis I think some people are picking Maddison and Wilson on the basis of their subsequent careers, rather than their short lived ones with us.

I was commenting on what Stokes is up to now. I included him in my team.

And all strikers on the list weren’t with us long barring Biamou

Sorry - comment was not specifically aimed at you.

You are right about the forwards - we have actually had some good one's - Mcgoldrick, Clarke, Wilson, Armstrong, McNulty etc who were all very influential. Jutkiewicz was also better than many judged him at the time, and if we had held onto him during our relegation season we might have been able to stay up. Given that he was playing in a higher league than the others though bar Jutkiewicz, I would probably say Marlon King was the best of them.

Yeah we got Nimely on loan and sold Juke to Boro. He ended the season joint top goal scorer when leaving in January

Went for Elliot Ward as centre half

I thought he went to Norwich that summer?

Knowl started something like this on twitter and as Ward was in the squad in 2010 he counted. I tried to put Van Aarnholt in but his last game was late December 2009

On left backs I can’t believe how quickly Blair Adams fell off. He looked compentent at League 1 level. There was that rumour that he was on 49 appearances and another one would activate a fee we had to pay to Sunderland but the site I use has him down as 64 apps for us.

He also had problems with his asthma iirc. Was he as good as some of us remember or just better than the other left backs we had at L1 before then?

Leon Clarke was the first name I picked.

Phenomenal finisher.

We started the season with Hussey and then had that Jamie Rekord

I'm going for a full XI and not allowing loanees.

____________Westwood
Christie___Keogh____Wood___Mason
__Gunnarsson___Kelly___Fleck
____________Maddison
________Wilson_____Clarke

If going 4-4-2 I'd have Moussa and Baker out wide and prob. drop Fleck and Gunnar because you need that solid guy in midfield to allow Maddison more freedom.
