A lot will depend on how Godden, Jones, Allen, Hiwula and Max are doing
I really don't see Baka going as he has a good attitude and it's possible he will do better with a partner alongside him

You may be right about Baka in a partnership but Biamou if fit will be the one all the others fit around. Godden will be first choice and it's a toss up between Hiwula and Baka who is back-up. ATM Hiwula appears to have annoyed MR so maybe Baka would be first choice.

Wouldn't really help with the budget as we'd have to release them for free (no-one's going to pay for them when they're out of contract in the summer). I'd still like to see how Ponti got on in a front two with Biamou especially.

We’ve seen Baka with Biamou already Baka does not want to make runs I watched him yesterday the diagonal is on but got pushed inside your looking at Baka thinking ok the diagonal is now not on run across the defensive line opening gaps for midfield and he’s just stood there it’s a joke how robins could say after the game he put a great shift in and can be happy with his shift was beyond me and that’s coming from a manager who was a striker himself playing under Sir Alex Ferguson

Bakayoko had a good game at Peterborough when playing alongside Max. Scored one, had another probably wrongly disallowed, played well and generally looked the part. He can do it. He is perhaps not suited to playing up front on his own. It will be interesting to see how he does if paired with Max, Hiwula or Godden when they are back. Probably last chance for him to show that he has got what it takes and can perform consistently.

I feel the writing is already on the wall as Faz mentioned robins must be desperate to get to January

Highest scorer in Europe apart from Shankland at Dundee apparently but can't play for us as he has already played for Bradford and Swindon this season.
Info from my son who lives in Swindon so can't verify the accuracy of facts!
I didn’t realise he is still a Bradford player, on loan at Swindon. Desperate not to go back to Bradford apparently as although he scored 12 goals in a relegation season, the fans were constantly on his back. Sounds familiar! How anyone expects players to improve or to perform when they are constantly being heckled from the side and told how crap they are is a mystery. The bloke behind me was constantly saying how crap Walsh was, how Robins needed to get him off, how his shooting was crap. He looked the fool he is by the end. If you can’t support the players we have, at least don’t barrack them. I would think Baka feels a bit like Doyle today. Horrendous miss but still doesn’t deserve the abuse he gets, particularly when he is still our player and we need him for the next few games at least.

We need to get rid of,
Bakayoko
Hiwula
Biamou
Ponticelli
McFadzean
Maycock
Kastaneer
Alasani
Brown
And I’d spend the wages on 3 quality strikers and a winger.
Getting rid is easier said than done though.

Agree apart from jordy and Max. Jordy is needed for cover in wide areas and up front. There is a decent player in him but I would agree he needs to step up.

Max - you have constantly berated the lad and i can only imagine it must be frustrating you immensely that he is scoring top class goals vs Peterborough and hat tricks and has looked really impressive. His red card aside has been our stand out player in November. Given how we are struggling for goals I see zero logic in 'getting rid' of a player who is just regaining full fitness and is showing some attributes that we need in the squad.

Show me where I’ve berated him!
I’m on record for acknowledging his work rate for the team, but I’ve also pointed out his lack of goals. (Scoring consistently against u23 teams is hardly relevant) I’ve nothing against the guy, but I believe we can do better.
Hiwula is far too inconsistent in my view, and must have the worst first touch in the division.
I’d certainly trust MR to find better alternatives.

His lack of goals? Since he returned to fitness he has been in the goals and even more importantly has been making others look more accomplished. I am not trawling through all your old threads to find your negativity when it comes to Max. But below are a couple of examples

Max biamou

Not Very Tactful
(About 3/4 way down the page)

You don't rate him and your entitled to hold that perspective, just not one I share.
The rest if your list I largely agree with however.

I stand by everything I’ve said, In league appearances his return is,
5 goals in 40 appearances in league 2
0 goals in 4 appearances last year
1 goal in 6 appearances so far this year.
So 6 goals in 50 league appearances over 3 seasons.

Now, I’ve often said I will never knock his work rate, as he tries his best and always gives 100% which is more than I can say for Hiwula and Bakayoko.
But the bottom line is, you need more from your centre forward in terms of goals.
If he bangs in 20 goals this season I’d be over the moon, but in all honesty I can’t see that ever happening. Can you?
I totally get the point that you need someone to hold the ball up and lead the line and be creative etc etc etc, But if no one else is banging them in, you’ve got problems. And that’s why he’s on my list.
And so given the option of keeping Biamou or taking a punt on another centre forward, I’d take the punt.
If you think differently, That’s fair enough. It’s all about opinions.

I think you have to count his 2 against Notts County in the play offs too for balance as it’s in essence a league game

Yep, fair point, To be fair he was awesome in that game.
And as much as I don’t think he’s the answer, I do rate him higher than Bakayoko and Hiwula, who are complete dog shit.

Short memories wanting Hiwula to move on. He missed a few sitters before his injury, but offers do much more and I'm convinced would be a great partnership with Max. Not even in the sane league as performances from Baka and proved he can score in. L1 more than simply last sesson. Moving him on would be a mistake in my opinion.
I know, idiotic

I don’t see much going out the door in January in a notoriously tricky window or much coming in.

Jordan Ponticelli the likely only player going out on loan again in what’s got to be the right loan to kickstart his career again in senior football after what’s looking a poor loan on the pitch in terms of game time at Tranmere.

He’s likely learning a lot daily being away but it needs to be reflected where it’s measured on a Saturday afternoon. Hopefully the 2nd half of the season he can demonstrate weekly at a level suitable to showcase his ability and grow on the confidence of playing/scoring in senior football.

Incoming I can only see another premier league/championship academy loan player boosting a area of the squad we’re short on closer to the time. I don’t predict any cash spent at all.

Eoin Doyle will be on most list but he’s on a season long loan from Bradford and he’s rejected the chance to join us once already in our L1 relegation season in the January window opting to go to L1 Portsmouth.

I think we’re fine. Maybe ship Kastaneer out if anyone will have him and get some pace and width in. Jones, Godden, Allen and Pask will be like new signings anyway next year.
