Clive. 7.
I admit it. I like him. Clearly is passionate about the team and does his homework. He's also less excitable these days (prior to this season he would go mental if the oppo got the ball 30 yards from goal which made listening to the commentary on the radio in days gone by a harrowing experience for any Cov fan).

Benno. 8.
I actually think despite some obvious flaws, a lack of preparation and turning up pissed - he's very entertaining at times. Loves the club. Doesn't take it at all seriously. I will miss him when Oggy returns. Keep him on CWR even when Oggy is back to lighten the mood.

Winch. 7.
The straight man who is clearly appalled at Benno's laissez-fair approach to life. Shouts out random facts to stay relevant. Traditionally a more reassuring presence for when Clive is going mental and predicting the end of the world whenever the oppo attacks.

Dolly Parton 8. Brilliant cameo. Welcome anytime and I hope there's a new tradition of randomly playing Dolly songs just before Walshy scores world class goals.

Oggy -10. If the rumours of Oggy being on holiday are true then Oggy is MIA at a key part of the season. Who takes a 3 week holiday from a job that gives you guaranteed holidays from May-August? If Oggy is away for another other issue - sorry Oggy and I've been enjoying your commentary this season.

I guess it wasn’t Clive today ? He’s at the Rugby ? Was at the game so no idea ?

Wasn't on for long but good to see some gender diversity in the commentary team. She fitted in well, keeping in the tradition of getting players names wrong - she was getting very excited about this Joe Lean fella and how she hoped he wouldn't leave for a bigger club who'd sign him just for the sake of it, but I can't find anything on us even signing anyone called that.

Entertaining? He's completely embarrassing. He is inarticulate and just spouts cliche-laden drivel. He clearly has little knowledge of our playing squad or any understanding of football in the 21st century. I enjoyed watching him play and he will never be forgotten for his contribution to the cup-winning team of '87, but should never be allowed near a microphone. Oggy, please come back soon!

As long as Benno doesn't become part of our coaching set up, I'm happy.

Had them on for the return journey and I know SB Harry H was a big fan of 'aplombly' and I particularly liked 'we need another plan B'. Whatever your views, you can't deny it's entertaining :)

I see what you are saying Bucks and Sky Blue Pete.

Normally I'm a real advocate for professionalism, research and being prepared in any job.

But in this case there's something that's just entertaining and infectious about Benno's commentary - he's always upbeat and finds entertainment in the smallest things. I like the fact that he's different and doesn't take it all so seriously. Plays off nicely against the rest of the commentary team. The world is a better place with Benno on the radio.

I think Benno and Oggy would be a great double act - the comedian who shows up just to have a good time vs. the straight man with his coaching manuals.

Save Benno!!

I certainly can deny it's entertaining - it's cringworthy. I too listened on the way home (at least as far as Banbury when reception disappeared), mainly to listen to what Robins had to say. As soon as Robins is done it's over to 5live or Talksport for me - I can't stand listening to Bennett. Personal preferences I suppose.

Benno makes the journey to and from the ground painful, with Clive constantly on all fours kissing his arse.
No insight, no sense to anything he says, never answers the question he's asked and about as entertaining as being slapped round the face with a used jonny.
I groan every time I hear "we'll be joined by Coventry legend Da...….."

Clive on the other hand is hilarious, don't think he ever gets though a game without referring to a different team than we are playing, bizarrely Stevenage is often his go to...

Sorry mate I'd rather listen Bennett than any of the boring boy's club gang on 5 Live or TalkSport (with the exception of Chris Sutton who I find hilarious). Hearing that obnoxious wanker Alan Green makes my ears hurt.

Edit, tell a lie I like Pat Nevin as well

I know what you mean, none of them are great (and Stuart Pearce is particularly irritating) but listening to a commentary game at least passes the time down the M40. Agree on Pat Nevin - very good summariser.

It's OK for the comedy value but it's baffling how much they don't know, assuming they get paid to be doing that.

Confuses me when people ring them up to ask them their views on things and lick their arses. "I just sat at from home and listened to the amazing coverage".

If they had watched the game and listened they would think otherwise.

Listening to the commentary while watching on iFollow has been a big eye opener in how much they get wrong, like mixing player names up constantly.
