Eccles is a tidy little player from what I've seen.

Looks like the box formation in midfield we played with last week.

Good to see Allen make the bench.

Only one defender on the bench as opposed to the million we normally have - that’s a positive. O’Hare, Kast, Bapaga and Burroughs all attacking and potentially able to change the game.

Starting XI looks strong to me, not sure the concern. Granted not the most attacking midfield, but it worked last week so despite the improved opposition, there’s no reason it won’t today.

Really glad it’s sticking with 3 at the back and giving Drysdale a go and youth a chance on the bench.

3-1 City, Bakayoko, Shipley, Westbrooke.

But we've got those attacking options on the bench because we've hardly got any on the pitch. Baka then Shipley/Zain.

A 3-4-2-1 does make the team make more sense and I guess MR doesn't quite have enough faith in Eccles to do the DM job by himself, esp with the inexperienced Drysdale behind, so him and Walsh together create that solidity. But I really think we'll struggle going foward but hopefully COH can resume his supersub role and Allen may be able to have a cameo too.

But of those attacking options you mention only really O'Hare can make a claim for a start. I think it's a perfectly reasonable team given the available players

CWR interviewieng someone at St Andrews "It's quite strange that a lot of people are just going to away matches"

How many defines "a lot" these days ?

Great chance for Eccles to show what he's made of
And Kastaneer needs to kill it when he comes on to prove he's better than he's shown so far

I get that and I thought the same last week, but it worked and it should today too.

It’s a very good technical side as well, that midfield four can play round most teams, we just need Baka to put the inevitable numerous chances away.

Such a conservative line up when you look at the attacking players on bench. Looks to have all the ingredients of an awful snooze fest

Which ones would you have started ?

Allen - Played 90 mins yesterday
O'Hare - cant last 90 mins and is a great impact sub
Kast - cant last 5 mins
Bapaga - another youngster and would arguably leave us more exposed in the middle

Not really. O'Hare maybe, but Kasta, Bapaga and Burroughs are totally unproven and not worthy of a start.

We are going to win this today - I reckon a landslide 1-0

The negativity is bonkers.
We'll win 2-1.
Goals from Shipley and Westbrooke.
Five L1 games and three L2 games postponed due to international call-ups.
They sure are scraping the bottom of the barrel these days.

exactly. Main difference is that O'Hare is likely to end the game on the pitch, after running around and putting pressure on the tired opposition, as oposed to starting the game on the pitch and blowing in the 2nd half
Tbf, I think O'Hare is far more effective coming off the bench against tired legs and the game stretched.

O'Hare can't last 90 minutes ? Where's that come from

One doesn't see this line-up pouring goals into the Rochdale net. Indeed, one fancies it not to get any goals at all!

Sure hope someone proves me wrong.

On the face of it, I get how it is perceived as negative, but it’ll set up the same as last week with Shipley and Westbrooke advanced. As I said, it’s a very good technical team and I have no doubt we’ll create chances. It’ll just be on Baka to finish them - and there’s nobody who could realistically have played in place of him, whatever the formation and set up.

Plus, we actually have players on the bench who can change the game.

Be positive.

Although with this teams I do worry we’ll have a record number of idiotic ‘get it forward’ chants.
