Is Maddison a joker? (1 Viewer)

On Bayliss it should be noted that he’s a very late born ‘99 and doesn’t turn 21 until August. He probably feels older to some supporters as he was a mainstay in the first team from the age of 18.

He’s been in the match day 18 for a squad second in the Championship last couple of games so is doing just fine

131 goals in 188 league games is incredible in the Premier league to be fair

28 in 43 for England

17 goals in 23 in the champions league too

Yeah but if you don’t count any of the goals he’s scored he’s scored 0 goals.

Shit

At this point Southgate is starting to grind my gears.

He clearly favours Mason mount which is absolutely absurd..

At least Mount has been a regular starter. The Ox has been in and out and coming back from a big lay off

Same with stones, whose been a bit shit since returning to city's 11, mings did well last time out, why drop him?

Average manager at best who would quickly get found out at premier league level.

Beyond me how he got so much credit after the World Cup.

I understand bringing Oxlade in - the formation is made for a player of his dynamism and he’s getting back into the swing of things.

Mount over Maddison though? Nah.

Said it before he's been incredibly lucky with not having to play decent teams. As soon as we play someone good we lose!

There's no way the Maddison thing isn't personal. Its past the point of ridiculousness now, It's like he's trying to deliberately piss him off.

I completely get wanting to give preference to players who have come through the system, although that raises the question of why Maddison wasn't in that system. But you can't just refuse to play people that haven't come through that way if they deserve it. Why shoot ourselves in the foot?

Gareth Southgate is another top 4 yes man...

ox-chamberlain who’s barely played ahead of Maddison who’s bang in form ?

I do think Mount is being a little underrated. He’s a good player and has been a key part of Chelsea’s side but not as easy on the eye as the likes of Grealish and Maddison which probably counts against him.

Saying that though Maddison should be playing. I’m not sure what more he can do

Put Maddison in for mount at Chelsea or in for ox at Liverpool mate he wouod be one of the first names on the team sheet...miles ahead of both in terms of ability for me

It makes my head boggle that we've learned nothing from past mistakes. We still don't pick players on form, too often on who they play for.

Did you? Why was that? What is your thinking now on Maddison?

We did very well out of the transfer deal as we have with all the academy players

It's a real shame we weren't a championship club at the time of Maddison and Wilson sales, we could have commanded so much more in transfer fees

And your thoughts about his potential? Has that remained consistent?
