Biamou brings it down well and lays it off. Eccles just aimlessly bangs it forward without looking.

So wasteful.

Shipley cannot for the life of him miss the first man it’s just awful to watch, painful

Dave Bennett has summed up this game perfectly by saying he wished he had gone to a bonfire party rather then watch this........and he gets paid to be there!!!!!

This is a crock of shit. I've seen 2 and a half games in this now tgis season and yet to see a goal!

Whatever the justification: giving young players a run out, rotating the squad, trying out new combinations; there cannot be any excuse for that first half. Eccles, Kastaneer, Walsh and Shipley have been abysmal. The tentative playing it around our area with passes across the box continues and has nearly cost us twice. Haven't even noticed Bapaga, so that saves him from the 'abysmal' category. Biamou a half-point above the others for having had a decent shot. McFadzean hasn't done anything wrong, at least.

Why is this happening for the third time this season? Does no one care?

Please don't anyone tell me those players just aren't good enough...

“does no one care?” I think that genuinely is part of it. They don’t want to be playing against Southampton u23’s in front of 500 fans. I can’t imagine Robins gee-ing them up, I don’t think he cares if we fizzle out of the competition.
I feel for the fans that have made that journey tonight (I couldn’t face it)

Dabo, mason, McFaz, Walsh, Shipley, kast, Biamou,

That’s 7 who are first team players, this isn’t a team of kids

Exactly this. Its a competition that's a hard sell at the best of times until you get close to Wembley. Then add in U23s that nobody wanted and a trek to Brum and its not hard to see why there's little interest from the players or fans.

Having said that you'd have thought there would be one or two going all out to push for a first team place.
