A little perspective (1 Viewer)

I suppose given that in the past couple of seasons we dropped to the lowest league of the efl we consolidated last season, this season we have had a decent start with different personnel also given that our crowd levels have halved from last season.
Our expectations as fans is higher than perhaps our realistic budget is and we all expect our players to be world beaters.! We play some great football at times, very pleasing to the eye but lack the end product on numerous occasions, even the 'big boys' have their failings too.
Robins has taken us to this new level and perhaps we need someone to take us to the next level! Contentious i know and its an even bigger lottery getting a manager to do that, man ure case in point, but for the time being Robins has taken us to this point so deserves a chance for him to try and get us to yet another level.
Some of the signings havent worked out how we wanted but may have worked for the management given yet again our budget.
So now i am waffling dont know if it made sense or not so fuck it going for a beer... dont be too disheartened pusb :)

I think we are doing alright and are playing some nice stuff. Need to start putting the ball in the net more often though. Out in the real world I've not spoken to anyone who thinks we are doing shit. Just a few on here and mainly in the match threads.
Yep and on here it is full of frothing numpties

Yep, meanwhile Arsenal are in 5th place in the Premier League and still their fans are moaning about their manager. Nothing changes.... perspective needed yes, but not round here!

Perspective? On here?

Yeah right.

We're shit, our strikers are terrible, Baka is the worst player ever to play for us, Kastaneer is fat, if we don't win the next 10 in a row then Robins simply has to go.

We have been pretty poor lately but are still in the mix and that is brilliant. We've been bloody unlucky with some key injuries and some very poor officials. Yes, scoring is a worry and we have some players that are under performing or making daft decisions. We can't do a lot about bringing in others at the moment, but I belive MR can use what he's got to get things back on track, if they'll listen, learn and adapt.

I dont think anyone thinks we should be world beaters, but people are rightly unhappy with our current form. We play some nice football, but rarely look like scoring.

Our current form over the last 6 games is 5th from bottom and we have played 2 of those 4 teams in worse form than us.

That is worrying. The rest of the top 6 are in the top 8 over the last 6 games, they’re maintaining their form but we’re not and look on recent form the team who are going to drop

The form is a true perspective 5th bottom the league goal difference tells a story mid table finish at best if we do not recruit in the forward department

It’s the same as last year - robins runs a registered charity for non functioning forwards

You would think as a striker himself he should be getting it right I can’t recall a time we had such a shower of shit at the club in the forward department

If MR had Sunderland's budget - then he deserves criticism. He doesn't have. We are in the top 6 despite awful officiating and injuries and yes, poor finishing, but playing good football - perspective is an appropriate word

Budget argument doesn’t when you look at the top

Bloke on the phone in yesterday saying robins hadn't had any money. Do people just randomly forget what he spends?

Wycombe - new owners (cleared debt)
Ipswich (bigger)
Sunderland (bigger)
Oxford? (but surprised if it wasn't bigger)
Fleetwood - not sure how they're financed, as their crowds shouldn't be able to support the quality of players they have.

All I'm saying is I think MR has done well overall with the resources we have. The back and middle look fairly solid at this level. Hopefully January will allow for the attack to be tweaked.

Perspective.

Chances of relegation - very small
Chances of promotion - far away

We’ve lost 2 games all season. Fuck me. Imagine if we were actually doing badly.

The perspective for me is: If someone had offered for us to be in the play off mix whilst playing an expansive style of passing football, would I take it? Yes.

We're 6th after more than a 3rd of the season. Lost 2 in 16, despite 4 red cards, countless injuries to key players, and reduced crowds. We play nice football, make chances, and never seem to give in. There are far more positives than negatives. Of course there are things that could be better, but this has been one of our best starts to a season in many years. That's where the perspective needs to come in.

I posted in the match thread but I had a look and after 16 games last season we had one more point. Possibly it just feels better than last season because we’ve not lost as many but points wise we were slightly better last season

And with the off field upheaval, isn’t that a positive ?

I’m not sure as the notion was that St Andrews would suit our style of play better with the pitch condition. Saying that though it has been our away form that has hampered us
The "off field upheaval" has had no impact on our strikers inability to hit the target. We've had "off field upheaval" for so long I doubt it has any real impact on the players.
