Don’t get these over reactions . I thought we played really well today . Lady Luck and the ref were against us. If I was Micky Mellon I’d buy a lottery ticket we played them off the park. Agreee with the Talk Sport comments best team I’ve seen in Sky Blue ( well ok Ska Blue) for many a long year . You just wait and see .

I'm surprised you didn't add "we're going to score a hatful of goals against someone soon".

We absolutely dominated the game, played class football and created enough chances for a very comfortable win.

There's not very much wrong with this team - let's keep the faith. <snip>
So 19 shots and only 1 on target is nothing to be concerned about?

These are all golden opportunities, granted Godden hit the post (still a miss) and to take a volley from over the shoulder is quite difficult for Hiwula.

And then there was Godden falling short of that header in first half, and missing the header in the second half. Hiwula missing the sitter in the second half. None of those chances were on highlights. Yet Blackett-Taylor gets in that space and scores. Awful result. 525AB841-70A6-4B8B-96B9-7CA31FDA0F92.jpeg

I see your point Gaz.

Personally I'd be more concerned with not creating chances and being played off the park.

I see very good things in this team and there's no need to press the panic button.

And it may be unfashionable but I truly love our style of play - a joy to watch at times - and in some ways I'd prefer to lose this way vs. route 1, booting up the pitch and getting some knockdowns.

Playing well and not scoring isn’t a positive when we’re doing it all the time. It’s the sign of a bigger problem.

What’s do you think is the bigger problem ?.

We are in contention and playing very well. Losing today was very tough to take, but if you are gonna lose, it’s after a sucker punch when you have clearly dominated the game and played some great stuff

The bigger problem is that we clearly don’t score enough goals. The exact same problem we had last season.

If we’d won the players would’ve been on Twitter at the earliest convenience, as always. Yet they haven’t been on today... always irks me. Out for the praise, hide after unacceptable result

Listened to the second half on talksport extra. The commentator and co commentator were complimentary on our team. They both said our football is at Championship level, and get the finishing sorted and we should be there and thereabouts etc. Sometimes it's good to listen to comments/views from those with no real interest in our club.

Couldn't agree more Rattles. The commentary on Sky Sports was equally very positive.

just like its quiet as hell on here after a win, a defeat and the word ends.

we are P12, W5, D5 L2

We have several players out long term, arguably our 1st midfield of kelly and allen still not played together, one new signing winger has an ACL and the other is clearly not fit.

7th in the league at this point, playing every game away from home, it's not the end of the world

I was doing some work this morning so got back and listened to CWR for a bit, but Eaken was getting on my nerves, so turned over to talksport extra. Both commentators were covering Pompey game yesterday, and they remarked how better we were than what was on offer at Fratton Park. They loved our passing game etc. Obviously our lack of a goal was a downer, but they still applauded our play.

There really were a lot of positives in this game, especially in the second half.

Downside is none of our strikers look like instinctive finishers. They need more composure in front of goal. However two clear handballs and a foal on the edge of the penalty area would normally given us at least one penalty. I think one goal and we would have gone on to win comfortably.

Tranmere are a good side, dont let their league position fool you.

Cov did everything right except score.

it's gone on for 2 1/2 seasons.
We drop too many points in games we dominate and win very few games by more than one goal.
Agreed. What frustrates me is Robins gets it right in all over the pitch except up front since he has been at the club and yet he was a bloody centre forward in his time. I just don’t get it at times!

The right back for them was quality and would like him here if we could get him.

But you have just said yourself and I agree that our attackers too often let us down. So that’s a goal scoring problem which in turn suggests mid table

not over dramatic

I’d look at it another way; we’ve had the same issue with strikers letting us down all season yet we’re still well within reach of the autos.

If/when our attacking players start converting chances or MR goes to market to rectify in January, imagine where we’ll be.

We are nowhere near a mid table side. Again, I’m incredibly pissed off after today, but we absolutely dominated and didn’t score. I’d be more worried if we had no style of play, looked clueless, played hoof ball and created nothing.

Hiwula 12 games 29 shots 8 on target (27.5% shot accuracy) 2 goals (1 goal for every 4 shots on target, 1 goal every 14.5 shots)

Godden 10 games 28 shots 11 on target (39.3% shot accuracy) 3 goals (1 goal for ever 3.7 shots on target, 1 goal every 9.3 shots)

Just to compare with the top couple of goal scorers.

Top scorer Ivan Toney 12 games 45 shots 20 on target (44.4% shot accuracy) 10 goals. ( 1 goals every 2 shots on target, 1 goal every 4.5 shots)

Mo Eisa 12 games 30 shots 17 on target (57% accuracy) 9 goals ( 1 goal every 2 shots on target, 1 goal every 3 shots).

Not playing well and not scoring is an even bigger problem

Yes Godden should be had at least 2 today but I’m still confident he’ll come good, these calls to drop him for Bakayoko are ludicrous. Do you really think Baka would’ve even been in those positions let alone finish the chances?

As a parasite I thought we played really well apart from the obvious missed chances.
We have to be winning that game today but the longer it went on and the chances were missed the inevitable was always going to happen.
If we were not creating chances then we would have a bigger issue.
I read somewhere on here that “Biamou would have put them chances away” which I found ironic really. His first 20 odd games he couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo!
Hopefully with a big following at MK next week we can put it right that’s if everyone on here will allow me to go.....

Just saw the highlights. Didn't realise the free kick for the foul on Godden was in the area. Annoying, especially after not getting the handball. We were unlucky today
