I may be wrong here but McNulty Couldn’t score when he was up front on his own, wasn’t it until Robins partnered him with Biamou it all started to flow?

Also, I would like to see Godden up top with Kastaneer. His pace and physical presence could benefit Godden. Might be an unpopular decision but just throwing it out there to see what everyone else thought?

I see where you're going with that Tom. I think Kast is more of a wide player from what I've seen. I would go with your original suggestion and as a plan B pair Max with Godden. I actually don't think there's too much wrong with our 4-3-3 to be honest - we are very likely to turn teams over with the current formation once we start hitting the target.

We would be better off a bit nearer to 442 I hate seeing the line centre forward bollocking about trying to close down their defence such a waste of energy for the most important player.

Also if our full back get forward they produce nothing so they may as well stop back and left the midfielders break

The amount of money we've wasted on strikers the past 2 seasons is crazy, not a single one look like giving a decent return. Godden looked really good when he first signed, the lack of a strike partner and being isolated are now giving us this. Need to start shooting on sight from all over.

JCH - 150k
Baka - 500k
Hiwula - 300k
Chaplin - 500k
Godden - 750k

JCH is one of the best strikers in the division and Chaplin is now playing in the league above. So I don't think we're buying poor players by any means.

Still maintain goal scorers are functions of the sides they play in and not in fact magical creatures that score a guaranteed amount each season regardless.

Any of the strikers we’ve had could come good if the rest of the side is playing well enough. JCH looks like getting a big move, Chaplin is a division above us, Godden and Hiwula have form at other clubs.

We just aren’t getting the ball to our strikers in dangerous places enough. We could have Harry Kane up front and he’d still struggle. Sort the shape out and the rest will flow.

19 shots and only 1 on target.
Conclusion: Strikers are useless.
With that many shots, you'd expect at least 2 goals.
What do they do in training?
It's a shame our unbeaten home record has gone so early.

And McNulty only "came out of it" once Robins had to change to 442 through injury. Robins is too stubborn. Played alongside Biamou in a 442, Godden WILL score. Currently, hes foing the donkey work for misfiring wingers.

Did you see the chances they had and missed?
Did you see how much possession we had?
Did you see how untroubled our defence was for 95% of that game?

We lost today because the strikers didn't score the chances they were presented with.

It must be great being a striker. You get excused most of the work all the rest of the team does because it's your job to score goals. If you don't score goals rest of the team gets blamed for not creating chances for you (even when they do). If you do get chances and score goals everyone loves you.

Maybe the question we need to ask is what is it in our training that means we consistently taken on apparently capable strikers and they don't score for us.

I thought Godden did really well today
It reminded me of McNulty against Chesterfield 2 seasons ago when we only drew 0 0 but had a huge number of near misses and McNulty did everything but score
Godden is going through a dry period as all strikers do sometimes
I still reckon he'll score 20 goals this season

How many times was he caught offside? I lost count at 54 and had somewhat of a nervous breakdown.

Baka was £350k. And we should make that JCH money back and maybe more in January if he gets a move.
My understanding it wasnt even v that much for Baka. It was 100k rising to 350k. Now he's hardly pulled up any trees, a few goals and a bit of appearance montargeys but doubt its yet surpassed 200k.

Godden played in a 2 last season at Peterborough we did this with Chaplin were told he was best with a target man we went against that.
