My response to tonight's episode.

What. The. Fuck. Wow. That has to be one of the most brutal and surprsing episodes of the walking dead ever.

Liked that, it's been a strong last few episodes. I was surprised to remember there's still one more episode though, that felt like a season finale.

Yeah, great episode, although ....
The great big, final shocking reveal had zero effect on me because I have been hoping for Henry's demise for quite some time. I was quite happy.

Was thinking it was going to be someone more major on that final spike.

And just one minor little gripe and it is very minor, because for me that was the best episode for quite some while, and that was you just knew the writers weren't going to write out Michonne AND Daryl AND Carol, so it kind of always felt that they were quite under that much threat in their little group. I was already aware there were the supposed heads on spikes from the comics.

Tara as the last one would have been more dramatic for me.

Agree with the minor gripes

For at least half of the heads I had to watch Talking Dead after to work out who they actually were. I was sure that either Rosita or Ezekiel were going to be there, so I was pleasantly surprised that they sacrificed Tara who is a bit of a stalwart, but no loss. As soon as they made a point of Enid and the handsome fella becoming official lovebirds that sealed the deal for at least one of them.

Alpha creeping about in plain sight was ace, she's properly unhinged. I was waiting for her to just start knifing people any second

I knew all but 2 of the people on the pikes. The ginger, and the second in charge for the highwaymen.

It was probably one of the best walking dead episodes of the series ever imo.

I agree we don't particularly care about the characters. But Enid, Henry and Tara.... That was heavy hitting. Not because i like them, but 1. because Enid and Henry are young and both in love with other characters. 2. Because Tara has been with the show for 5 seasons, just to kill her off, at the drop of a hat was surprising to say the least.

It was much needed to trim the cast and bring that wow factor, while also allowing the new cast to take center stage.

We all know Carol and Daryl are unkillable now though. With Michonne leaving next season, means until we are connected (if we are) to new characters some people will be shielded.

Think Jerry needs to become a more prominent character, he is one of the few newer characters in the last few seasons who has been likable

Well going by the next teaser clips, it looks like Kingdom falls, and so it could be the communities join? Or run as a democracy like Alexandria.
Haven't seen the clip for next week yet.

Now I don't need to apparently.

Wasn't a lot in it to be honest, just it's a jump forward to winter and a voice saying ' we failed the kingdom fell' and the group/groups trying to go somewhere all seemed very strange!

One thing is quite noticeable, for me anyway. Carl I found annoying. Henry, annoying and Enid when she was younger, annoying too, but Judith is just brilliant and that is all down to the fantastic portrayal by the young actress, Cailey Fleming. Totally likeable character.

Agree bright future ahead of her. Two huge roles already (she was the young girl in star wars)

Some interesting theories online regarding the last episode next week

Suggesting another main character could be killed off

Visually very grim. And hard hitting. Don't think Henry being the final head was at dramatic as they wanted it to be though

That was brutal! Needed a stiff drink after that! Up there with when Negan mashed up Glen and co. Its set up for Negan doing something heroic to change our perception of him...maybe to save Judith from an attack or something.

Carol does go all ninja when she’s pissed so that could make a few good episodes!!
I thought the kings head would have been a great final one to pan to. Then they could have opened a boozer in the kingdom and named it accordingly

I agree think Ezekiel dying would have been much better, also because despite his flaws, Henry was a good character on the whole, and he made Lydia a better character for us to like.

That was boring.

But on the whole the best season in a long time. In reality the ''season finale' was last week, just in terms of drama.

Think Angela Kang has done a great job

And one final point Cassady mcclincy is going to be some actor. She plays the role so so well.

Wasn’t keen on the slow motion HD kills , the stare down at the end was good though

It was all over the place for the first 30 mins or so I felt and the 'comedy' bits just weren't funny.

Ended on a better note, but overall it was a bit of a mess.

I thought it was decent, but yeah it took a little while to get going and Eugene being a bit special is getting old. I can't wait for the commie aliens that were piloting that satellite to appear though, what a new direction!

The Eugene thing is becoming very tiresome.

I thought the stab at humour with the Siddiq/doctor scene was pretty embarrassing too.

Yes great point.

However, stare down at her and give her the evil eye, is also great revenge too.

It's the only bit I have trouble disbelieving in the show, ok it's for dramatic effect in that case have someone else spot her, or do it from the perspective from Alpha, have her emerge from the trees, spot Carol, retreat back, only for Carol to catch a glimpse...

I always recall the time Negan emerged from out of the bay doors at the Saviours den and Rick's group had guns pointed at him and could have killed him just like that (they even said they were going there to kill him), but they didn't.

We will kill him first chance we get, except when we get there we won't and we will just talk a bit until he is able to escape.

Absolutely aching for Rick to reappear. Jadis can stay behind wherever they flew off to though, she annoyed me. And of course just give Daryl one more chance to f*ck up Beta.

Yes, I wouldn't mind him returning to the main show, especially with the new showrunners. I'm sort of excited for the "movies" which will follow him, but also wary as Scott M Gimple will be heavily involved and he was responsible for the mess which the show became.
