With the passing of Ginger Baker this week, the list of rock artists who are no longer with us grows steadily year by year.
This has inspired me to do another Rockblock on Planet Rock radio, of songs featuring artists who have left this mortal coil. My first track I've chosen is : Crossroads by Cream. As Jack Bruce and now Ginger Baker are gone.
What songs would you include ?

The best front man I've ever seen was scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots /Velvet Revolver. He was a force of nature. Like some kind of half reptile half man shape shifting around the stage but he could also belt out a tune. I've never seen anyone come close to his stage presence.

Another troubled soul who went too soon.

Cor...I used to really like 3 Colours Red. Not listened to them in years now.

Really good first album, some decent tunes on the second too. The drummer died from a brain haemorrhage a few years back sadly.

I'll add Charlatans - One To Another too. Not known as a rock band but that was heavy enough not be classed as indie.

Gary Richrath lead singer/guitarist of REO Speedwagon (died 2015):

Sorry, I kept switching the song. Couldn't decide which one I liked best.

As John Lennon would have been 79 today I've put his Cold Turkey track in my Rockblock.
I'd prefer "Instant Karma!". And no, Suzi Q ain't dead. I just thought she could be included in future choices.
