Exactly what it means, resources have been tight and we can’t compare to Ipswich and Sunderland in the marketplace. Equally we have had to sell assets to maintain this on top of lack of income coming through the door means money is tight. I’m not saying that we have no money to spend (which is clearly the tone of your comment), the club have done a good job to ensure he has funds the spend but it’s still tight and he has to spend wisely.

So would you agree he’s likely had a top 5 playing budget in the league since his first full season here?
And you’re saying that’s tight because he has to “spend wisely”?

And because we can’t compete with two teams who were in the championship last year, one of which is still receiving parachute payments of tens of millions of pounds per year, you therefore classify us as having “fairly limited resources”?

Do you not read that back and think it’s a bit silly?

Do I want MR to leave? No. Am I scared MR will leave? Definitely not. Why as fans can we not enjoy the moment? Even when things seem good we need to find something to worry about. I guarantee one day he will leave. When MR does leave who's to say the next person wouldn't do a better job? We as fans are all fickle. All it will take is poor run of form and the odd post questioning tactics, lack of plan B and before you know it we will be talking about new managers. All we can do as fans is live in the now. We currently have a good manager and what seems like a decent squad for this level. Managers leave, players leave, even stadiums leave for us! Let's enjoy the now and hope when MR does eventually leave it's because he's still doing a great job. Either way us the fans will still be here.

I think the thing that works in our favour is that he’s the man here. The whole club is built in his image and what he says goes the whole way through. Most of the fan base, and the owners, have patience with him so a blip, even a fairly significant one, isn’t going to cost him his job after his achievements. He also has the opportunity to put what’s a huge club at this level back to where it belongs and become a legend. He isn’t going to get that anywhere else. I think his Huddersfield and Scunthorpe experiences mean as long as his budget isn’t drastically cut he’s ours.

There is no way Robins will go unless sacked

I'm sure lessons learned from past experiences such as Huddersfield so doubt he will leave any time soon as he has built this club back up as a long term project. SISU turned the corner, brought him back, offered the backing to correct past mistakes. So far so good and it's showing on the pitch. There is a sense of acheivement in doing what he is doing and all the while knowing the club has major issues off the pitch. So he not only gets to acheive his goals but makes his CV all the stronger for it. Eventually he will either leave or have the distinction of getting us back to the premier league. I'd like to think the latter.

Don’t disagree we will have a decent playing budget but again never said that we didn’t. For the record Sunderland were not in the championship last year, try reading your own silly statements back before frantically responding...

Other teams like Rotherham, Portsmouth, Peterborough are likely to have salary bills exceeding our own but again that’s irrelevant to ourselves who don’t have revenue from a ground coming in, very low attendances and season ticket sales and heavy interest on debt payments which still need to be addressed. If all that doesn’t limit a clubs spending ability, I don’t know what would.

If Robins is offered 3,4 or 5 times his salary and a reasonably long contract, of course he will leave. What sane person wouldn’t ?
If he fails somewhere else, he can take a pay off and be re- employed within a few weeks.
It’s a manager merry go round, and they all play the game.

I'm only worried because the obvious replacement has just been appointed at Hereford.

YES. Best manger we have had since I started going up in 1999. The only manager I actually believe can take us back to the Championship or dare I say it, Premier League.

Depends where we are when he leaves. If we are in the championship then I would expect us to find a half decent replacement. I will be worried if we don't go up this year though.

I suspect he's on a relatively good deal-to compensate for the less than perfect working conditions. He's very employable after what he has achieved here.
I also suspect, but have no proof, that he is very comfortable working with younger players. The grief has been with some (not all) of the older guys like the "Shrewsbury Two". That means the Club's development based model is one that suits him.

If it was his first time here, I'd be worried but I think that he's jumped ship before and it didn't work out too well. Despite all the sh!t going on off the pitch, he seems to deal with it admirably and is building something decent here and knows he's adored (by and large) by the fan base.

I'm not even considering him going unless a Prem club came in for him which I doubt.

Not scared but expect him to be poached during the season. He is a decent manager and his stock high with the job he has done for us. I expect a mid to low table championship club to get him. Best we can do is stay in top two to at least give him something to ponder as to how far he can take us.

Only for monetary reasons as it's a poisoned chalice. They've got a new generation of fans who think they've a divine right to top flight football, they have no foundations at all. Snook up in 2008 and made signings with the next season in mind only. All coming back to roost now.

This brand of footy would give us a chance in championship if hes given the right players. Doesnt have to be promotion. Wed all be over moon with survival in that league 1st season.
