How good would this be for a thread come May?

Didn’t expect this at the start of the season.

Did you? Fair play for your optimism. Still think if we finish anywhere near where we did last season with a push for the playoffs we would have done well. Be interesting to revisit this in May.

I think Ipswich will walk the league Peterborough & Sunderland won’t be far off ether I do feel we will make play offs this season

I expected us to be mid table this season so I’m surprised and delighted. I must be very pessimistic as we’re sitting top of the league but I still just don’t think of us as autos challengers. If we can make it into the play offs that would be a fantastic achievement

Can’t see us for autos but a decent chance at playoffs. Defensively we are good enough and in a midfield of Kelly, Allen, o’hare (and Walsh covering) we should be as good as any in the league. It’s up front I think we struggle....godden needs better support if we are to be serious challengers.

We seem to be scoring but letting in a few more than the others in and around us?

Definitely in the mix: Posh, Sunderland, Ipswich, Rotherham,
Contenders: Sky Blues, Fleetwood, Blackpool, Donny and Burton
Outsiders: MK Dons, Pompey

There are some big clubs in there, and some with strong financial backing
We are stronger than last year. so should be contenders, but not favourites. We could nick a top 2 if we keep plodding on the way we are. We have only played Burton and Pompey so far

Just makes the 2 points dropped vs Bolton even more frustrating.

we've also drew away at Oxford who have beaten Posh at home at drew with Sunderland at the SoL, two of your definitely in the mix.

probably need another 54 points for the play offs from 36 games 1.5 points per game
something like 15 wins 9 draws 12 defeats
That is very possible as long as we dont go on a coventry style dip in form

Autos will need us to maintain current form

We have a very tough few games coming up after Wimbledon... I'm guessing we will know Wether we truly will be good enough to be in the mix by the end of November... I'm guessing we will be

Marosi v Burge - Upgrade
Dabo v Stirling - Downgrade
Mcfadz v Willis - Different type of player, marginal upgrade
Hyam - as last year
Mason - Better player than last year, upgrade
Kelly / Walsh - As last year. Better cover for Kelly's not infrequent injuries
Shipley v Bayliss - Different type of player, marginal downgrade
Westbrooke v Bright Downgrade
Godden v Baka - Upgrade
Jobello v Thomas - Downgrade
Hiwula - As last year. O'Hare would be an improvement

Over the whole we are better in 4 and worse in 4 and the same in three. We are stronger in the central spine where it really matters - Marosi, McFadz, Kelly/Walsh and Godden is much better. We were very reliant on the three loans last year.
