Atmosphere at St Andrews (1 Viewer)

First visit to Birmingham today - have heard from friends that block 33 is the best to be in for atmosphere but that seems to be sold out today!

Have gone for tickets in block 25 on the second tier - How's the atmosphere been in that part of the ground so far?

Overall has the atmosphere been better or worse than the Ricoh?

Am hoping for a loud crowd today for our biggest game of the season so far!

Sit in 25 with my dad (68) and sometimes my lad (3.5).... chose that end, away from away fans/singers corner deliberately. I'd say it's currently on a par with what you had in blocks 19/20 of the Ricoh. I'd move closer to the other end if you want it to be a bit more lively.
They have been putting all of the pay on the gate lot in the corner at this end (25 end) and some of them try to get a few songs going.
Personally think it has been pretty quiet at our end.
The stand doesn't seem to hold the noise from the singers end.
Sorry if that is not the answer you wanted!!

It definitely doesn't. I watch the first half in 30, where the singing comes across quite well and walk down to the goal we're kicking to, (Not sure of number) 2nd half and you can't really hear much.

Was silent for 89 minutes today.

After the winner though, it put the Ricoh to shame.

I thought it was a bit flat today, which was a bit surprising considering it was the biggest turn out of the season, but absolute scenes at the end.

It’s non sustainable that’s the only point to make. Also you can amble round and pick a seat wherever you like and can see the game from the bar which I guess is a plus

question is tho we keep this up say were top 2 at the start second half of the season in a strong position with st andrews like a fortress by then and we go back to ricoh i wonder what the crowds be like then if we go back.

people that have been there would you like to see us go back or stay at st andrews?

Stay at St Andrews. Going back to the Ricoh may jinx it.

Was very poor (due to attendance) on Tuesday and poor again today (apart from last few mins)

It’s not home. I know it annoys people on this site, but i make no apology, I want to be back home.

Birmingham is easier to get to, has better pubs, has a better after game experience but it’s not Coventry and we are ccfc !!

Back to the Ricoh but take the St Andrews pitch with us.

I thought atmosphere was fine once we pulled a goal back, always going to struggle when we concede in the first minute, much as I'm enjoying the St Andrews experience we do have to get back to Coventry, don't ask me how that happens though as i don't have a clue, when we do come back i hope the landlord at the roost buys a pub near the ground, a good football pub and a great way to start a Saturday afternoon.

IF we did go back to the ricoh, its time for a fan village, have a couple of ex players meet and greet, a band on, early prem game, goals of the season shown on the tvs, raffle to meet MR etc.

Isn't a lot of that Rugby shit though, the St Andrews move has brought back the old school feel, meet your mates in the pub. Analyse it over a beer after. Hard to recreate that back in Cov.

not a clue about the rugby thing, thinking more about my experience of going to games in germany, love the fan villages before and after the games, its all about what you said and more.

The trouble with that at the Ricoh is that it would cost more in rent without anything coming back from the sales

I'd expect so, rent out the jaguar hall or whatever it's called, then food and drink money goes to the insects

Isn’t there a pub or club nearby that could do it? Even something pop up on the day would work, what about that brewery thing nearby?

That's what it needs to be, dhillons might work, the bar ain't the biggest though if it was a proper crowd. Wasps could give us a bigger percentage on the premise of increased turnover should we return.
