Well it would cause those. Not least that we’d have to erect our own border infrastructure and checks.

Why would we? What would be the purpose of that?

To stop Northern Ireland becoming a back door black market route into the U.K. and because otherwise we’d have to provide the same open border to everyone we’re trading on WTO terms with.

A general election is the obvious way forward - a second referendum is pointless

The question would be rigged and not be yes or no so it would again be pointless. If it was yes or no the result would barely change

It’s bot going away. Labour should be honest with the electorate and admit it’s going to stand on a remain platform - then it’s a straight contest leave vs remain - the issue then will be settled

The conservatives clearly will have leave as a manifesto pledge - and will again at a next election

You know what a straight leave vs remain contest is? A 2nd ref

Loaded question my arse, 'Should Britain leave the European Union without a withdrawal agreement or should it revoke Article 50?'

If you think that's loaded you know that No Deal is a pile of shit

The UK didn't have any bargaining chips to begin with apart from the the threat of no deal.

You don't seem to be able to grasp the concept of deregulation and then having no border in Ireland and the issues this would cause. Of course, the arrogant little Englanders who say "so what, let the EU put up a border", which would then cause all sorts of problems for the UK.

As I've said before, it makes no difference to me whatsoever in terms of my rights here, I registered my official cittadinanza/citizenship here as Irish.
Er hello.

You said that Corbyn wasn't all about remaining. You told me I was so wrong to say so. You said it was me giving false information. So I gave you a link to Corbyn saying exactly what he wants. It is actually the best thing I have read about him. And it was his actual words and from a site even you couldn't try to say anything bad about. So what do you do? The usual. Wait for lots of posts to occur and then give your reply. That is changing the subject and putting yet another allegation against me. Same old.

So what did you think of what Corbyn said? I agree with a lot of it. But I noticed that you never tried to say that he doesn't want to remain again.

What has that got to do with my post?

Edit: I think you have the wrong poster, you sent the Corbyn link to Tony.

Sorry you are right. It was Tony. You was just one of four that agreed with him. And this time nothing else was said.

So why did you agree with false information? Why did you agree with me being wrong when I wasn't?

Or is it you just don't know as much as you think you do?

Are we nearly there yet?
Made the mistake of reading the the last couple of pages on this thread. Same names arguing the same shit.
Bored of it all. Would be more than happy for us to just say, sorry EU we made a cock up we don't want to leave now. Just so I don't have to watch the same old tedious crap every time I turn on my TV.

People may be underestimating how rife smuggling is around the border. Even until 2007 when the British Army left a significant amount of its work around the border was anti-smuggling operations. This is while being in the single market. A different tariff structure between the two countries will create lots of opportunities for organised crime and smuggling will be a major issue. Of course, due to links to the various terrorist organisations organised crime is a different beast over there. These are people who are used to be in conflict with the Army and PSNI, not some chavs waving a few knives.

You can pretend the border can be left to the Irish and not something we’ll do but in reality that’s not the case. We’d need a border to comply with WTO commitments and I’m sure any future trade agreement with anyone else will expect we can control our borders so that any goods said nation are sending to us aren’t undermined by a black market supply.

A few snags and that’s before we get onto terrorism, the GFA and the potential for a unified Ireland.

How would the GFA cover a no deal Brexit?

It clearly states that the Irish parliament if in operation could call a unification referendum - the bottom line is 340,000 in Northern Ireland voted leave - the split was 55 45 so 45% actually weren’t bothered about the GFA

And that is the real reason the ira will start kicking off again. Since the good Friday agreement a blind eye has been turned in the name of peace. Violence is still rife but doesn’t get the headlines as they’re not planting many bombs. They only real way to stop it all was tried once in the late 80s

Coventry live are doing a silly Facebook thing where they ask you who you would vote for in the election if it was called.

They've done similar things in the past and Labour always romp home... Conservatives currently have 4x the amount of people voting their way than Labour do...
Obviously can't look into it too much, but it must be disheartening for Labour voters knowing how many people truly dislike Jeremy corbyn when they all believe he is the Lord and saviour.

I truly look forward to his absolute drubbing at the GE (screenshot this post for the absolute scenes when he's wiped out)

Take a deep breath... you sound like that Chemical Ali bloke.

You are aware that the open border in the past caused massive problems across this border? You could toddle down the road and buy some goods save 10 grand and drive back again? How does the VAT differential get managed? I don’t even know.

You can’t help but get the feeling he will walk at some point. He’s a showman but not a statesman.

Imagine if this process leads to yet another Tory leadership contest!? They just kicked most of the same ones out!

Or it leads to a GE. Would be interesting as would it be another leaver or another remainer in charge of the Tories. If it was another remainer it would be nearly everyone against the Brexit party.

HA! Yes, I remember that it was clear that a leave vote was a vote for leaving without a deal - WOW.

The rest of your post about reunification shows how detached you seem to have become from reality and how that would solve a hard Brexit. We both know how much trouble, violence and deaths that would cause.

A price worth paying to you no doubt.

The smuggling is utter bollocks - the open border caused massive issues for many industries when the Euro was a basket case versus the pound

Let them have a unification referendum as they are allowed - then they can unify if they want - I’m sure Mr Corbyn will have no issue with it

So let them have a unification referendum - I assume you were repulsed by the Spanish denial of Catalonian independence?

Yes I’m aware it caused problems, hence my long post describing how the Army helped police it and how not being in the SM will cause huge problems.
