So, I started this thread a year ago nearly....
What are everybody’s thoughts now he has had 40 odd league 1 games.
And I ask this from a footballing/promotion contenders perspective, as opposed a “one of our own” view.

Had a mare today but decent enough and probably right that he got a new deal. If we somehow manage to get up to the Championship he won’t be at that level at all.

Decent L1 midfielder. Has areas to improve but what 21 yo doesn’t?

I like him, and he’s one of our own which I like to see in the squad. Would drop Westbrooke ahead of him though I expect both will end up out of the first 11.

His sloppy passing is putting others under pressure, everybody makes a mistake passing the ball but he is doing multiple poor passes in every game now if he dont cut this out of his game by concentrating more then he will continue to play a lower standard, if he could cut this out of his game hes not a bad player

O’hare Kelly Allen

This has to be our first choice midfield I feel.
Agreed, but we will need 2 new players to play up front with Godden if we want automatic promotion. Otherwise we will be competing for the last playoff place imho

Good squad player and still young enough to improve

Defebsivly weak however so needs to become stronger in the tackle

100% agree Hiwula & Jobello will not carry us into the championship for sure.I can’t see us bringing in players to play there though ? @fatso

Not a chance unfortunately, But there’s an outside chance that Jody Jones could return before Christmas, and if he can regain his form, he would be a massive bonus. It’s a lot to ask however given the nature of his injuries.

The reason de wasn't as good today was because he lost that edge he has once he got carded.

Yes-fair shout that. Even though it was a harsh caution for denying a promising attack on the halfway line.

Never bought this nonsense. Couldn’t give a monkeys where he’s from as long as he does the business. He could be from Mars for all I care.

Heard some knobhead today say “the Villa scums coming on” as O’Hare was getting ready. The “scum” nearly won us the 3 points with his goal, who cares where he’s came from as long as he does the business. Some people act like it’s a Rangers vs Celtic rivalry.
Yep likethe shit on the villa chants last week too, fucking mutants

So as this thread was resurrected by the topic starter after 6 games and with it now being the halfway stage I thought I’d bring it back to life for a second time

The stats are that he has 11 goal contributions this season - 5 goals and 6 assists - 3 more than anyone else in the squad.

In League One he is joint third for assists

Having a great season. Some of the balls he plays are just top class.

Who needs Bayliss?

Yeah, but is he good enough for league 1?

he's been great this season. Just like to know why he always seems knackered after 65-70 minutes.
Is he just not up to 90 minutes or is he running himself into the ground and needs to be a bit smarter with how he uses his energy.

He's got himself significantly fitter and to be fair has got good footballing relationships with a number of players in the squad, he worked well with Mason and Hiwula and seems to with Westbrooke too. I had my doubts over him but glad to say him doing well.

He's got asthma hasn't he? I think he works hard, makes a lot of long sprints into space e.g. the l4th goal

Shipley has been one of the most improved players this season, he has been given a chance in his favoured position, and has responded fantastically well, and he has been under pressure for the shirt from some good players.
Well done to the lad, and MR for sticking with him.

didn't realise that. I did notice that in a home game a few weeks ago he was really pressing aggressively in the first half, more so than anyone else and got through an incredible amount of work.
