That's really sad news. I guess it was near impossible to save them once the depth of their debt became crippling. I hope they can form another club for next season as it'll be too late for this season.
I genuinely feel it for their supporters.

Sad news. They were obviously optimistic as they had started selling tickets for Saturday.

Awful for the fans

messed up,doesnt look good as even this takeover was being rushed. now need someone new

be nice if stuff like badge and name reverted back to efl so they could give it phoneix clubs

happened for parma and fiorentina in italy and thus they never lost fanbase or history

If they can’t play the games then it gets tricky. I hope they can manipulate the rules so they can miss a season and rejoin in league 2 next season.

Is that fair on all the other clubs though?

Why on earth were they selling tickets?

I hope they and Bolton who I fear will have a similar fate can re-group and be allowed to start again next season in division 2, both clubs were almost certain to be relegated this season due to their points reduction so nothing changes, just two down from division one and four promoted from division two and two up from non league

I think it’s a balance my friend. It’s fair that the footballing community are fair to all clubs and this may look different for different clubs

See what you are saying Nick but this is unusual circumstances the very least would be to allow both to be in the division below the football league rather than division zog but of course plenty would moan about that.

I don't, why should they get a free pass when their issues are down to overspending and then not managing finances properly.... Don't get me wrong I feel so so bad for their fans but if this was any other business they wouldn't get that sort of chance

They only got promoted because they spent loads of money they didn't have and couldn't even pay the players that got them promoted.

Who owns the stadium?

You can't just go on indefinitely extending deadlines. You'll get the point where the number of fixtures postponed is unworkable not to mention at some point the company itself will need to be wound up to avoid the administrators being in trouble for keeping the company going when they shouldn't.

As for restarting, I suppose in theory you could forfeit every game and take relegation but then who comes in next season? There's no club in existence and how would a new company setup as a new team take ownership of the stadium and other assets?

and likewise CCFC won't when our time inevitably comes

A couple of years ago I would have said the writing was on the wall but nowadays we are run so much better and are nowhere near the basket case that sadly Bolton and bury are

We shall see, we've been fortunate to be able to sell assets every now and then to keep the wolf from the door. We'd be in a difficult position otherwise especially now at St Andrews.

Surely it would be a drop to a 6/7 tier level like Chester City? Hope they survive because the fans just need their team. Fans would travel...hold on a minute. Gigg Lane is their home. Maybe An ex footballer could throw their hat in the ring once they become a Phoenix club.

There will not be a further extension by the EFL
Today is deadline day for Bury.
Bolton may get a 14 day extension but Bury have already had 2 extensions
Over and out for Bury.
Very sad for all concerned at Bury.
Must be terrible for the true fans. Can you imagine no more skyblues.

Does all this show that any Football club outside of the premier league is not worth investing in? Seems to be a real lack of interested corporations coming in for either Bury or Bolton.
