Totally agree once those fucking cloggers get on it its knackered and akin to playing on a ploughed field although hopefully the crowds would increase

Most bond prices have fallen because of brexit uncertainty. The price is irrelevant to day to day wasp operations

But the bond price has been falling since 2016. If I can remember back then the project was being celebrated as a success by some people because of the bond price reaching 111.5ish.

I certainly don't hear the same thing now that it's crashed down to 88.

Brexit can't be blamed on everything.

The bond price isnt a reflection of current finances.... the last audit was a year ago and interim figures to December had pretty much stabilised.

Yes price has dropped but they were for a long period above par.

But the bond price is irrelevant to day to day operations or understanding those finances

The only time we had any real increase was the Armstrong season.

Even when we were doing well in League 2, we couldn't muster 15k for a league game. We couldn't even manage a good crowd for the play off first leg.

If we were to get back to the Ricoh the first game would be around 13k.


However, I do genuinely believe in the championship our crowds would regularly hit 20k. The away followings in that division are huge. The vast majority take over 1500 a week and there are about 10 clubs who could sell 5000 at the Ricoh. Plus, playing the likes of Leeds as well as local games against Brum and Forest would feel like cup finals compared to Forest Green and Fleetwood we have become used to.

That is a good point and I think people would return over time, I reckon we'd average around 18K

One comment I did hear from someone who bought his seat at Ricoh, was that they had tried to make enquiries about a refund or something similar and were told pretty much the club/Wasps would look into this in October. Not sure if anyone on here has made similar enquiries?

Championship football would draw more than Premiership egg chasing for sure. Definitely in their interests to keep us under their thumb lest they become a smaller 'attraction'

Absolutely, we need to make sure we are least equals if we were to go back. I’d rather have nothing to do with them whatsoever though.

I agree but all that leaves is building a new ground which the owners never seem to have taken seriously. With that as it is I don't see a route back

Can’t see either the council or Wasps having a good enough relationship with Sisu for a joint venture, not Sisu suggesting one that’s acceptable. Playing nice with others is hardly their forte.

Best case is new stadium is 5-7 years away once the EU action is done (potentially another 5-7 years).

If we want to stay in Brum until we have our own place it could be 10-15 years.

Edit: just realised this should say worst case not best case.

Yeah let’s stay at St Andrews this season, in league 1 where most teams don’t play good football, get promoted, then get back to the shit pitch Ricoh for the championship, where other clubs will undoubtedly be able to play football equally well or better than us.

Of course, had we stayed at the Ricoh things on the pitch may have been equally as positive.

Thing is if we get promoted we won't be able to play in Birmingham I believe it is in the FL rules.
Then again we could move to Villa.

Nonsense about the 'hotel group'. The hotel is owned by ACL and only run by Hilton under a franchised agreement.
