Just curious as to the general feeling right now. I’ve not made it to St Andrews as not been in the country but looking forward to it when I’m back. Never liked the Ricoh, shit match day experience and atmosphere and even worse since Wasps bought it.

Heard a few texts that were sent in saying will never watch outside the city etc etc so, what do people want?

Been to all the games at St Andrew's - enjoyed it short term as each game we have done something different Broad st one week found a half-price bar 4pm - 8pm - had a drink around the ground yesterday couple of good bars - but as the weeks go by its a bit of a ball ache catching the train and then a taxi from new street - attendance at midweek games will be challenging and although a lot of noise comes from our one stand its a bit odd - Would much prefer to be back at the Ricoh accept for one massive important factor - the pitch which is absolutely fabulous at st Andrews compared to the Ricoh which was like a ploughed field - I also think the attendance is going up and although there was a total of 5624 yesterday only 100 gills fans bothered to make the trip i saw more new faces but lots of people are away this weekend - Blackpool at home i think we will top 8000

Difficult poll. I can’t bring myself to vote for playing at St Andrews for 3-5 years. The quality of the pitch suits our style of play but that aside, I’m someone who isn’t really enjoying the St Andrew’s experience. Distance wise the drive isn’t the worst but has anyone had our experience of crazy driving once you get near St Andrews? We were nearly taken out three times yesterday. It was scary - and our driver is an experienced and very good driver. The seats are thin plastic and there isn’t enough leg room. Really uncomfortable. We’ve moved from our season ticket seats and talked to a few people yesterday who were similarly moving trying to find a more comfortable spot. We actually had a hypothetical conversation yesterday about would you renew next season if still at St Andrews. There was a view of ‘promoted definitely yes, still in League 1 I’d think about it’.

short term maybe this season not an issue, but i will not renew next season unless we are back at home

Pretty sure, with some very sad exceptions ( mobility Etc) most can go. It’s that they choose not to. The “away game only” crowd is a smokescreen, it’s only a handful.

That vast majority of those not going have simply chosen not to travel to Birmingham, they just don’t feel connected enough

The poll I conducted suggested 50% that do not attend as many games is due to convenience

What does this even mean??? Genuinely don’t get your point.

People screaming out for them to show the public the plan but in doing so that would severely weaken their position so actually I am happy that they do not do that. Not sure what you’ve said above in response to that

What is there to not understand? Our long term future hangs in the balance of an EC decision. You’ve pretty much answered your own question in the next sentence “weaken their position”. Yes you’re right. They’re not going to issue a statement saying we’ll go back to Coventry if things go wrong for Wasps in court - which is what they’re silently clinging on to.

The EFL have asked to be updated about their ground plan every three months, I make that early November. If we believe barmy Boris we’ll be out of the E.U then. a coincidence perhaps?

You keep saying this - you said before they wouldn’t allow us to move

When will it get through your head he EFL just want fixture security which the club have always done

But what if, before the end of the season, there was progress on a new stadium and we got as far as a formal planning application? I doubt that will happen, but if it did that changes everything for me. I could put up with an extended exile with a clear plan. Without that, it will be a difficult call next season.

I am enjoying going to SA, won't lie, it is a far superior matchday experience, but it cannot be a long term solution.

How long did Bristol Rovers play in Bath for, was it 10 years? There is certainly precedent.

Yes I forgot about them - Twerton Park for 9 seasons I think

Whatever the fans do SISU still run the club how they want.

I dont want to be part of supporting Wasps in any way.

Ideally a new stadium in Coventry

Northampton was a different situation.

St Andrews is a good football Stadium the best option we have.

Robins and the players are working hard and deserve the support

Of course they would be.

There isn’t a stadium for us to play in in Coventry and we don’t own one. How could we be forced to move back to Coventry when there is nowhere to go?

The day that the Ricoh was sold has been leading up to this and is the one action in all of this that has had the most impact to cause severe long-lasting damage, even once SISU are gone.

The fact some supporters even applauded the sale of the Ricoh is mind boggling.

This.
They’re 100% not having that Wasps have kicked us out.
All this bollocks about a deal not being reached, legal attacks etc.
Still amazed the media back Wasps after what they’ve done.

We have been to all of the games at St Andrews and have had the same experiences as yourself with regard to drivers. On every occasion we have seen crazy driving, young male drivers each time in the Small Heath and Bordesley Green areas. This includes jumping red lights, being over taken on single carriageway busy roads, ignoring lane direction arrows and u-turns performed at will in busy streets. Are they just taking advantage of lack of police? It would be interesting to look at the accident statistics for inner city Birmingham which are surely way above the national average. I lived in Yardley for about thirteen years and didn’t see driving like we have witnessed this month.
I agree about the seats too, much tighter with a lot less leg room.

I don’t get it. Do fans think we as a club can go on like nomads from town to town to play and survive. EFL have asked our owner to update them every three months I’ll be interested in the first instalment
You only have to look at the way the EFL have fucked up dealing withBolton and Bury to see they don’t have a backbone to do anything positive. All they are interested in doing is protecting themselves.

Just a thought, What happens if we are fortunate enough to get promoted this year? Surely gates of 5k or 6k at Birmingham won’t be any where near enough to cover a championship wage bill, let alone to attract the better quality players needed to survive in the championship.
So the question is, would promotion, and the possibility of 15k or even 20k crowds at the Ricoh, change people’s view in favour of a swift return?

Yes it would , oust Wasps and make the stadium ours again

So what should they do? Indemnify wasps? Instead of resorting to such a pathetic stance, how about you propose your solution?
What's your solution ?

I think it would be all the more difficult for the club . We'd get slightly higher gates but proportionally less than we would at the Ricoh. If we were to struggle I think the supporters would soon lose patience with the idea of remaining outside Coventry. There's a mini premier League in the championship and we cannot compete anywhere near the likes of Derby, Birmingham, Cardiff, Middlesbrough, Stoke , Charlton, Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, west brom, Bristol City, Huddersfield in terms of revenue from our supporters.
In league 1 at the Ricoh we're a fairly big fish. We're not while we're at at Andrews and in the championship we're a minnow in a very large lake.

Thought the atmosphere in the ground yesterday was poor. Really enjoyed the trips to St Andrews so far. Birmingham is a very underrated city imo.

1. The demise of Wasps
2. An outbreak of Black Death at the Council House
3. A return to the Ricoh as owners
4. New owners with deep pockets
5. Prem top 6 finish within 5 years

(We don't always get what we want)

I voted for the first option....

It’s shit but it’s the only way forward really, and at least it’s a viable option instead of just frothing and screaming we need to be in Coventry at all costs big bad sisu joys handbag etc etc
I'm not screaming at all, but we need to be back in Coventry . That's extremely important. Just because we are joint top of league 1 shouldn't allow for complacency. One or two on this forum have forgotten that, or rather have taken their eye off what is fundamental to a club, which is to represent its own city, in it's own city.

Isn’t it fundamental that a city council should represent its own city rather than sell the city’s leading sporting club’s home to southerners. One or two on this forum have forgotten that.

I've gone for option 3 as that's more likely than CCC and SISU behaving like proper business people in working together to sort us out a new ground (if the space is there). I just want us to be playing in Coventry. I'm not fussed if that's at the Ricoh, Butts or the Memorial Park at present. How that happens is above my pay grade but it shouldn't actually be that difficult to achieve.

3-5 years out of Coventry is too long. I hope Wasps will feel the heat sooner than that. My concern is rugby always has an attendance bounce after the world cup and it's starting soon.
Do many of you know mates who are wasps fans from Coventry?

It’s actually really easy. We just indemnify wasps for potential multi million pounds consequences if the eu business comes to anything and put the future viability of the club at even more risk. Job done!

Complacency! Lol! I’ll have fucking complacencies all season if it means a successful one!

Every single one of us on here would take a season away from Coventry and a promotion rather than a return to our home city and another season in League One.

ADM it’s being a successful football team that’s taking our eye off the shit situation of playing in Brum that’s a bloody positive!!

Let’s assume this is the only option (which clearly it isn’t). With sisu track record in court.......

This isn’t a UK court and who know what an independent investigation will show up against a different set of rules.
