They were fucked.
To come off Tuesdays performance and get a win is immense.
Still averaging 2 points per game. Automatic promotion form.

We got the 3pts, that was my primary concern!

I felt O’Hare and Wakefield showed a bit of promise in their cameos too which is good to see.

We could have a good season this year.

No. The point was that sooner or later, sitting on one goal won’t be enough.

I wouldn’t say we sat on 1 goal, we just didn’t create enough, unfortunately. We created a lot in the 1st half in fairness.

Tuesday night game with 9 men, we were probably a bit tired from that.

Do we reckon Watford will play a slightly weakened side? I think they might and we'll have a half decent chance of causing the upset.

They have lost all their games so far so would expect them to put the first team out to try and get some momentum. Wonder if we will put a weakened team out though.

We’ll probably play a strong side, resting a couple of our first choice regulars, whoever may need it.

We hadn’t signed Godden so I guess I can’t count him

Imagine a midfield long term without Kelly and Shipley say
I’m glad you mentioned Shipley he’s developed into a real good player, another top performance yesterday Put a massive shift in at Portsmouth followed by another yesterday in sweltering conditions, yes there’s the odd stray pass but he’s there battling back for the ball. Can’t wait to see Jamie Allen up and running to join him and Kelly.

Great first half (should’ve been a couple up really). Poor second half after Evans changed the way the set up.

Another three points though and some very good showings to date. Rose (a couple of long misplaced passes aside second half aside) continues to look a quality signing, Mason and Shipley have started the season impressively and Godden also looks like he has the makings of a very useful striker.

Ps Kelly just continues to be immense in the middle.

Hot day yesterday a tough mid week battle & suspensions I think we just needed to get that one out the way.Oxford away Saturday defo winnable before Blackpool home the week after...6 points please.

Jobello knocked the ball past his man a few times yesterday & looked very good we need more of that from him Godden again worked hard unlucky not to score,Hiwula was poor his touch seemed way off but an off day now and then is expected,Hyam MOTM for me hoping Jamie Allen is close to a return now I like Westbrooke but do feel Allen will really strengthen that midfield.Thought Wakefield looked positive when he came on looking to get at his man whenever he had the ball.

What a difference Marosi is making. Doesn’t have to do loads in a game but pops up with some incredible saves. Such a big difference from Burge.

Looks so comfortable with the ball at his feet.

I think the big difference between Marosi and Burge is confidence, something that Oggy pointed out during Tuesday night’s game. He acknowledged Marosi was at fault for the first, possibly second Portsmouth goal too. However, as Oggy said, he didn’t let his mistakes affect him. He carried on as before.
Apart from confidence, the big difference that I can see is his ability with the ball at his feet. He is comfortable receiving back passes and his passing ability is excellent.
He does have a mistake in him however, (the cross he missed against Bristol Rovers and some mis-placed passes against Portsmouth and yesterday), and I am not totally convinced by him but he certainly fits in with Robin’s play out from the back policy.
In a couple of games he has thrown the opposition forward “a dummy”. I wouldn’t be surprised if in some future game he comes unstuck doing this.

Never Understand why MR does not change his formation to counteract the opposition changes as he knows whats coming?

Maybe, if MR wants to give Mason a rest. Also wonder if he'll leave the centre backs as is so Fadz can fully recover. Think we might see O'Hare come in for Westbrooke to give him a rest.

Changed my mind on this and reckon Watford might play quite a strong team to get themselves out of the rut. Still think we've got a chance though.

Looked knackered towards the end you could see his energy dropped, no hate though after Tuesday he deserved a bit of a rest. Godden also out a shift in don't think he knows when to stop running.

He is a 1 trick pony that's why but it's a wikid trick that if the players are playing right will tear any side in this league apart.

MR has gone from 4-4-2 in L2, to 4-2-3-1 and now 4-3-3 in L1, he’s a tactically flexible manager.

You don’t need to change your formation because a weaker team decides change formation a bit.

The average football fan wants to try and mix things up as soon as there’s a goal or a loss. That can actually be a detriment rather than a help.

That doesn’t make sense.

It was very clearly a 4-4-2 with a midfield of Bayliss-Kelly-Doyle-Shipley.

We started league two with Jones as a regular

Very well, the games I went to looked like 4-3-3 with baylis shipley on wings in a number 10 role biamou up top with Kelly and Doyle behind.
You’ve just described 442 mate. 2 cm’s 2 wingers and 2 strikers? How does that make it 433

What difference does that make?

We originally started Beavon in L2, with McNulty operating a bit deeper than how he’d end the season.

We started with 4-2-3-1, switched to 4-4-2 and that got us the result we needed.

Robins isn’t given the credit he deserves in this respect.
