No. Believe it or not, for the last few years the pitch at the Ricoh has been a mixture of grass and artificial fibres, supporsd to make it more durable!!.... there has been nothing to suggest that they will be laying an artificial surface (not permitted in EFL) like at the butts. If they were, the Telegraph would be all over it rubbing it in our faces, Wasps would too.
Just a loose term banded about and used in this tweet....

Why on earth have they left this until now? There hasn't been any events in the stadium bowl since Bon Jovi and that was the middle of June. Idiotic to leave it until 4 weeks before they start playing rugby on it to rip it up and start again.

Perhaps they are buying some off cuts from Coventry Rugby?

Just had a look at their twitter. Surprised how long it takes to lay a 4G pitch. Looks like they started work at the end of June and it wasn't ready until the middle of August.

That would more likely be 3G

While these synthetic grass only pitches do exist and there is an argument that they are 4G, many label the term 4G as a sales technique as they have not yet been officially graded as a new technology. To date 3G pitch are the approved and recognised standard for ATPs.

Either way I dont think CCFC can play on it

It's like caring whether your ex still has a Brazilian or not. It's not my business if loads of rugby players make a mess of it of a Saturday either.
Fav post on here ever

Boddy before the game suggesting Wasps were ok in the short term (this season) due to the 1 off payment they made on selling the Rugby rights
in his view once we get into the Winter both
a) they will begin to see the bigger financial issues in the long run and also
b) our owners would begin to be hit by the longer financial issues at playing at St Andrews
however didn't fill me with confidence that it would be short term in Birmingham

4G pitch can be laid quick as you like its the prep that takes the time - plastic needs no sun or watering !

Let’s wait and see what type of pitch is laid, if it’s 4G then it’s curtains re us going back to the Ricoh. I doubt it will be. Not sure how long it takes to lay a football pitch, end of October ? perhaps a significant time (Brexit) in all our lives.

Depends what is already in place under your pitch. Cov had several foot of rock hard clay.

I suspect the EFL would change the rule anyway if a club had a 4G pitch

I am far more bothered by CCFC not playing in the City than Brexit in fairness. Can't see the fan base of CCFC democratically voting to leave Coventry!!

By Brexit I elude to not being in the E.U. which I believe will make a difference to this appeal farce.
