A player who has passion, commitment, eager to impress, has a touch of class, strength, would stand up for team mates, scores a worldie.... Some Coventry fans complain.... same old same old.

he will have been given instructions by MR just prior to going on. Unless those instructions were go around leaving a foot in and sliding in like a maniac he totally deserves the criticism coming his way for letting his manager, team mates and fans down.

Both yellows were ridiculous but because the second one involved some mildly amusing sliding it looks like we're going to have the most ridiculous fans favourite since half our support fell in love with Mo Konjic for wearing a mask.

Was this around the time Strachan left on a limping Hedman on the field instead of bringing on the young Kirkland

Did hyldegaard play that season?

Nope.He was bought in as back-up because Oggy was very close to retirement and Kirkland was at the opposite end of the scale but Oggy eventually ended up as main back-up keeper as he clearly hadn't impressed much - think Ogogo and Brown last year brought in on long term decent contracts and hardly featured.

I also forgot Nuzzo was brought in on loan as well and Kirkland was given his debut in second leg of that tie after Nuzzo had a disaster first leg because the tie was considered gone and gave him a chance to try out without any pressure.

It was amazing Hyldgaard was here so long and even became first choice for a small period of time somehow.

But none of this has anything to do with the fact we've haven't got a small squad or that bit (or no) part players got squad numbers.

He’d have got very disgruntled wouldn’t he and demanded to leave?

We do have a small squad of players with any experience - it’s paper thin

Players have to start somewhere. How would anyone ever get any experience if they weren't called from the reserves into first team action? In recent times you've had Bayliss, Shipley, Hyam and McCallum all making the step from youth and reserve football to the first team plus Williams and Thompson have both been called upon as needed. Eccles and Maycock have both been on the fringes and have had loan spells at other clubs to gain experience. Can't see what the panic is honestly. We are a bit short of established midfielders currently it's true but that doesn't mean that our less experienced squad members can't do a job.

Very true a lot of times youngsters get a chance due to injuries and grab it both hands, Bayliss for example. Going back to the JH days he signed a player Bobby Laverick who was useless brought a young 18 year old in out of the stiffs Ronnie Rees, who became an international within a year.
One of our best ever players

Do we? Look forward to seeing the bench packed full of senior players then

Senior players are being left out by MR by choice. He's put a 16 year old on the bench instead of Biamou. He also put the young (;)) Sam McCallum on the bench ahead of Junior Brown.

No it’s not, we have 23 senior players.

I make it realistically 21 in the senior squad, and that's including jones who's been injured since the Brexit vote

Marosi, Wilson
Mason, Rose, McFazdean, Hyam, Pask, Dabo
Kelly, Jones, Allen, Jobello, O'Hare, Westbrooke, Shipley, Wakefield
Biamou, Hiwula, Baka, Gooden, Kastaneer

Kids - Williams, McCallum, Thompson, Allasani, Bapaga

Others - Brown (out of favour), Addai (on loan), Pont (on loan)

A fully fit (and not suspended) squad and we can certainly field a very competitive X1. as tomorrow will show, like most other League One clubs, you only need a few players out and squads start to look shallow.

Bapaga is 16, he should be moved to the kids section.

So 23 then. McCallum has been playing enough for him to be considered part of the squad and Brown is a senior player, despite him likely not being here much longer. The squad is about the right size for this level (once Brown gone). Only thing I think we could do with is a RB on loan until Christmas as cover for Pask being injured.

Tuesday's stupidity aside, he looks one of the most gifted and exciting players in the squad. Suspect it's more likely he'll become a fans favourite for those reasons than a stupid red card. There seem to be people writing him off already, and I'm not really sure why.

I'm not writing him off, just criticising what he did Tuesday.
And there do seem to be some people revelling in it.
Let's hope when he's back from suspension his on going contribution is more akin to last Saturday's cameo than Tuesdays.

This idea of a ‘paper thin’ squad is silly suggestion.

How many clubs in L1 have more than 21-23 squad players? Not many.

That’s not even including young players like McCallum, Eccles and Bapaga and the other young players we’ve got.

Since there’s 18 places in a match day squad, and you can only use 14 a game. What would your plan be for keeping a squad of 24-25 happy?

Senior players want game time, last season, players like Ogogo or Brown were not happy because they weren’t involved. That causes issues for the harmony of a team.

I’n more interested in the one thing he did when in an instant a twist, a turn and a shimmy took out three Pompey players, I’m convinced he will become a great favourite here and the real deal. As for his two bookings so what ! Neither were malicious, and both Pompey players milked it a bit, don’t blame them for that. He’ll be back hopefully v Watford Tuesday.

Even Premier league bosses, including Man City, say 23 players is too many. Why do you need a squad of bigger than 20 when only 11 can play? It's bleeding Div 1. We should have 20 players who are versitile. People online do these FA management sites and the power goes to there head. They actually think they are future managers. We are Div 1 about 5 leagues above pub standard so why do we think we have all top stars?
