Wowzers!

Didn't post last night for a number of reasons but man...how good was that? As I don't go that often, I guess I get a bit more excitable at the games I do go to. Hopefully Watford next Tuesday will be just as exciting...so long as I get a ticket!

Anyway, I went with my step dad last night - the man responsible for getting me into Cov when I was not much smaller than I am now. We got to the ground about 10 mins before kick off, in row D. A couple of mates of mine (Pompey) were in the same stand as us the other side of the divide and I saw them before KO, giving them a friendly w@nker sign. My step dad said one of the stewards was looking at me...as if a vertically challenged fella is gonna start a fight!

The game itself, I thought we were on top the first 30 mins or so then Pompey started to find their feet a little. We missed their 2nd as we went to get a drink before the rush but I thought we shaded the first half, despite going in one down at the break.

2nd half...well, when it went 3-1 and then Dabo went off, I said to my step dad that it could be a cricket score and if Pompey get one more, then we're off. Genuinely thought it could be 5 or 6 at that point. Then the penalty went in, then Kastaneer went off, then the disallowed goal, then the euphoria of the 3rd goal and the agony of hanging on for 5 mins of extra time. What an emotional rollercoaster.

As for some of the players:

Marosi - Made a couple of good saves but his distribution was generally poor.
Mason - I'm still unsure on him. I thought he was played into awkward situations a number of times which obviously isn't his fault but tried to do too much and got caught out a couple of times. It looked like Pompey were targeting him. Good work rate though and a great tackle deep in injury time.
Rose - Looked nervous, played some bad balls and didn't look great at all. Scored the equaliser though so all is forgiven! I think he could be a good player, just didn't look great last night.
MacFadzean - Genuinely thought he looked immense last night. His mistake was awful but like I've seen on other threads, all players make mistakes. Didn't tarnish a decent performance from him.
Shipley - Thought he worked hard...quite an industrious performance. Seems to have come on well and upped his game another level. Very passionate at the end.
Kelly - Immense. The new Doyle...work rate, energy, passion, drive...thought he had a corker. That shot that was heading top corner late in the 2nd half as well!
Godden - Another with great work rate. Could be our most astute and important signing in a long while.

The others all had decent games - Dabo maybe had the trickiest time against Curtis who I thought was Pompeys best player on the night. Harness and Marquis were also good for them. Obviously knowing quite a few Pompey fans, they're all distraught and commenting on Jacketts future. When they brought on Burgess when we were down to 9 men, I knew we'd equalise. I said to my step dad that he was an awful defender, having seen him play a couple of times. Their lot rightly questionning why you bring a defender on against 9 men.

Overall, it was an amazing night...totally buzzing when I got home. The passion of Godden when the 3rd goal went in, the same again when the players came over at the final whistle...you could tell what it meant to them. Some might say an over-reaction to just a point but the character in the team was immense.

Looking forward to Watford next Tuesday. Please don't buy all the tickets you ST holders...

I know this thread is positive, but it’s really screwing with my head and I have to sort it...
It’s Godden and Kastaneer!!

A mate of mine who works in Pompey was there last night - think he is still drunk!

Will try to get a ticket for Watford too. Should be ok to pay on the day I suspect. You will spot me easily - I am a bit taller than you WM!

@Skyblueweeman I can get you a ticket if you want me to. I only bought one for me and The Boy, so should be able to get another. I think they don't go on general sale until tomorrow.

Cheers Torch. I could take a chance and wait until tomorrow but if you could, that would be amazing. Happy to transfer the money beforehand it you want or pay cash to you on the night. Let me know what works.

Thanks again.

Well, we'll see when they post it and worry about it then. If you PM me your address and I'll send it if it comes within the next couple of days, if not we'll arrange for something on the night. I'll just grab one now.

I've given you a like despite negative comments about Mason but don't let it happen again!
