Woodstock Festival. Anyone old enough to remember it? I know there are some old farts like me on here. This was the "Summer of Love". 1969 - as far as I'm concerned, the best year of my life!

The following year aged 16 I went to the Bath Festival which was the UK version of Woodstock. I was working in the warehouse of Mills and Mills stationery Fairfax Street, opposite the Silver Sword pub. I was the youngest of the group of workmates, it was a 3 day festival. Top of the bill were Led Zeppelin, plus the likes of Canned Heat, Edgar Winter Band, and many more top acts. We had four seasons of weather in 3 days, baking sun, wind, and torrential rain. But I loved it there and from them on went to outdoor concerts every year. And yes Zeppelin were awesome !

My best year was a couple of years earlier, 1967.
That's when I got my new Lambretta scooter and was finally free.
Did not have to use buses any more and could go wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted.
The music in 1967 was the best ever as well, at least to my ears.

Agreed. I'd say the best years for music were from 1966 until 1970. Went a bit downhill after that.
