I think you think you know more than you actually do and I think you think you are a lot more clever than you actually are. Actually, I’m starting to doubt you were born in 1234.

You are entitled to think those things. I would like to see a shred of evidence to back up either of those personal assertions. In truth you have no clue where I have come from in life, what my IQ is or the level of educational attainment I have achieved and what salary I earn as a result. But if it makes you feel better to decry my capabilities i will live with that. Now shall we stop hijacking poor Jordan's thread.

Is there a standard laugh time for fart jokes ?
I would suggest it's nothing to do with a standard length but if your consistently always the one who is still laughing when all the other adults have stopped it might say something a little cringeworthy and embrassing about you. Typically these types have David Brent levels of social awareness so are most probably blissfully unaware!!

Interesting considering you started the assumptions about peoples intellectual capacity. But let’s leave it still.

Edit: hang on, how many suit jackets do you own and are you in Mensa?

Who’s been to the Coventry Forum... then who’s this? “I don’t agree with that on SkyBluesTalk”

Would help to explain why we haven’t had any loans. No sense loading up on youth players and blocking off their path to the first team.

But we're signing youth players and then blocking their path by signing more youth players - it just seems a bit scatter gun and getting loads in and seeing what sticks rather than real long term planning.

With only a year to impress I guess it focuses his mind to do well, but he could do well and we'll lose him for a small fee if he gets attention. The short term contract doesn't suggest a huge amount of expectation but if he's been injury prone in the past it is a get-out clause for us.

I wish the lad every success during his time here.

A year is forever. I had a trial at West Ham in the ‘70’s that lasted less than 10 minutes

But Don Rogers did making his debute at 16. A very decent goal scorer old Division 2 and 3 (so Championship and League 1).

Lets face it Kevin Keegan didnt impress at Coventry but it didnt stop him being a success at Liverpool.
True and we also turned down Chris waddle I believe.

I would imagine like most these short term deals it'll have an extension clause in it.

Subtle as an offended little toddler throwing his toys out the pram after being told off. Those who don't get what I am saying here please see my post the other day and Hill83's comments. Please Grow up Hill if you were indeed born in 83, which I doubt more each time I read your intellectually lightweight comments. While I get this forum should and can be light hearted fun, i am yet to read anything from you that suggests you are anything other that the sort of adult who laughs just that little bit too long at fart jokes.
Weird.

We're not blocking their path; we are creating competition and mitigating for the fact that not all of them will progress as we hope they might. We can loan and it seems to be a production line of those who succeed being sold - opening up opportunities for the next wave. It's not like we have 100 U23s.

Competition is good, but at what point is there too much competition? If we've got a lot of players in a particular position (as I believe we have in CM) then they're not all going to have an opportunity to play games and thus we can't accurately assess their progress. The ones who look good in training sometimes can't transition that into games whereas someone who would thrive in a match situation doesn't get much of an opportunity.

Look at Bosma. It seems like pretty much as soon as he turned up it was clear he wasn't good enough. So how well did we scout him? It just seems since Viveash turned up we've much more adopted the Chelsea development programme or bringing in a lot of players whereas we've brought a lot through the youth ranks recently with a limited squad, so they've had to play up a level and be tested. OK, maybe a lot of those youngsters got their opportunity through necessity and budget restrictions but I think a smaller group that can have more attention put on their individual development is better than getting a big group thrown together and having a Spartanesque 'Last Man Standing' battle.

What a stupid statement, every player that gets signed is potentially blocking other players path whether youth or senior. Not sure why it’s a short term deal could it be to do with ffp ? This latest one is obviously and hopefully one for the future, MR must rate him now it’s up to him.

So then it begs questions over the scouting. If we're signing a young player and then signing another in the same position just a month or two later doesn't it suggest that the scouting on the first should've been better? You sign players because you think they'll be an improvement on what you've already got. This suggests that the scouting team really aren't sure about who they're signing for the development team so are just signing players up on a 'fingers crossed' basis. That's fine if you're the likes of Chelsea or Man City with the financial ability to do it but we're not. We have to spend every penny carefully, even if it is on less expensive youngsters.

I like having a development team but for me it should be giving a core of players an opportunity to progress and then allowing the occasional academy player to step up to see if they're worthy of a contract.

No wish on my part to continue this tone. For the record lightweight and inferior have different meanings. I have far more respect for adults who make direct challenges to comments rather than have sly little digs and then try to pass them off as light hearted.

No offence, but you remind me of the kids I used to yeah who were obsessed with not looking childish and because of it ended up looking more childish than ever.

Lighten up.

Ha ha, for fuck sake, he told me something equally as unbelievable in a private message last night and I gave him the benefit of the doubt as well. I've been done over.

To be fair, there are a lot of little rats on here that need a good ear clipping. I love the idea of a charity fight night.
