Definitely shouldn’t do this right now, but it would get Mason and Dabo forward, allowing for a proper front 3 if 4-3-3 isn’t working in the future.

You don’t need to play 3 at the back to get the full backs forward. We should already have one fullback and 2 midfielders joining the attack in a 4-3-3. That’s 6 involved in an attack and just needs communication to manage it.

I always get an uneasy feeling whenever we sign someone that turns out to be really good. How long will we be able to hold onto them?

I'm more interested about how you came to watch Alfreton 10 times? :)

Scouting one of their defenders and two of their midfielders at a few of those games.

Be interesting to see if Rose starts Saturday how he gets on against JCH a big strong centre forward who tries to bully defenders... Last time we played hyam had him in his pocket

Funny how football offers up so many different opinions. Granted I have only seen him once against Southend but I thought he looked very nervous and jittery. In my opinion you could see he clearly a decent player as there were glimpses of reading the game well but on quite a few occasions he was shoved off the ball to easily by the attacker, he wanted too long on the ball (Fadz gave him a right bolloxing in the first half for not getting rid) and there seemed to be communication issues with some of the back four. - looked to me like he wasn’t claiming the ball when going up for a header, Marosi, Fadz and Mason all had a word with him at one point or another after he challenged them in the air.
I’m in no way writing him off cause like I said he showed glimpses of being a good player, and many others have said what a good game he had last night as well as at Bolton (although I really don’t trust Pete’s opinions on any player in sky blue) but I would still have a fully fit and on song Hyam in alongside Fadz any day.

Gosh that’s harsh!! I’m pretty happy that those who went last night agree to a man with my opinion

What a liberty

You don’t need to, but if it’s not happening in a 4-3-3, 3-4-3 allows for more defensive cover, further encouraging wing backs to get forward because with 3 CBs, one can cover a wide position and not leave us short in the middle. Could help us if we struggle, and our main 3 CBs are all fit and good.

Did you pick up McFadzean as a potential league player at that stage or was he a later bloomer?

Yes however most of those games weren’t first team fixtures. He’s looked good since those days too.

Is this veiled criticism of McFadzean? I’ve only seen him once live at Bolton due to the circumstances an unusual game to judge anybody, looked the part to me.
