Could do worse. He wouldn't need to travel far...

Anybody mentioned Godden from Pboro? He's a good striker with a decent record. Likely to be behind Eisa and Toney in the pecking order there.

Eddie Nketiah on loan from Arsenal.

I've always liked Kane Hemmings, tends to get around 15 a season, Currently at Notts County in the conference so would be cheap.

Ata QW&A, Doyler said if we were to pinch one of their players it should be Boudeweijn (just made up the spelling!) Talented but inconsistent.

Clearly the budget isn’t very big even with the Chaplin million. Frustrating as fuck to not be able to even compete for McNultys or Brights wages. Needs to pull something out the bag going forward or its gunna be another fairly boring season

Don't know how long you have followed City, but the last 2 seasons (add The Checkatrade final before that) have hardly been boring!

My comment on sometimes being a dull was about games at the Ricoh last year where we repeatedly played well but lacked killer instinct.
My frustration with not signing these key targets is it makes such a massive difference. We have a good squad as it is, but if feels like we’re literally one key signing to complete the jigsaw for promotion and so far we’re falling short on signing them. How can people not find it frustrating to lose such key targets to Sunderland and Lincoln presumably because of wages? Stretch that bit further for once to get our man

I don't actually think we have been outbid on either Bright or Walker.

Walkers best friend Jorge Grant who he went through the Forest youth system with just signed for Lincoln. He was loaned with him to Mansfield last year as a pair.

Now at 22 you if two clubs come in for you on loan, Lincoln being touted as play off contenders also, having your mate there is going to be a huge factor

Bright is a weird one, Wolves haven't decided what they want to do. Even if we want him and he wants to come there is nothing we can do. Money doesn't talk when you are dealing with a Prem club. Regardless if we offer a million it means nothing to them. They might just be insisting he moves up a division on loan or are genuinely wanting to hold on for some reason

I’d be surprised if we weren’t still in the market, especially given that we have allowed Ponti and Chaplin to leave. Leaves us quite light up front for out and our strikers since we appear to want to play with wide men flanking a top man, and Hiwula is likely to remain as one of the wider men

Loans x 2. And nobody we have ever heard of - as with Sterling, Bright, Thomas et al. The B'ham thing will be less of an issue. WE have none at the moment and two or three is the norm in L 1.

Could one of the young kids step up?, like Wilson did the last time we had to play our home games outside of Cov.

Was speaking to a Sheffield Wednesday supporting mate of mine this evening and he says they have way too many strikers on their books and looking to offload a couple.

Could Sam Winnall be an option? Scored a fair few for Barnsley and on loan at Derby 2 seasons ago.

Browsing the unattached forwards on Transfermarkt, not sure how up to date it is but there's plenty available. Totally random selection of not too ludicrous targets below:

Gary Hooper
Will Buckley
Victor Anichebe
Fraizer Campbell
Franco Di Santo (might know Vivesh?)
Kyle Lafferty
Marcus Pedersen
Will Keane
Jamie Ward
Toni Silva
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Sod it ill keep going:
Josh McEachran (Bayliss replacement, again Adi could pull some strings)
Tom Adeyemi
Jonathan Obika

Someone I wouldn't mind is Tyrese Campbell, the Stoke kid who played against us for Shrewsbury. Thought he looked better than Okenabirhie.

I’d love us to follow up on our Jobello and kastaneer signings with another continental ‘super star’, that none of us have heard of.

As a loan signing he'd be good for us - he's decent in the air for a start. At 28 he's probably too old for us to sign permanently in the hope that his value will increase for re-sale though.

That’s a great shout.

Sam Winnall just about the right age, experience and player for our system.

He’ll be looking at a championship club though surely.
